The jailer looks like yet another generic vilain

Judge by the information we know so far. The entire thing seems not to the quality of lore we had seen in previous expansions.

Don’t act like we don’t know anything about the lore so far as if the expansion was just announced.

P.S. Who is falsely reporting my posts?

I really hope we will lose at least one fight in this game.

We see the villain and be like, oh we are going to kick his butt.

Common it is so boring already.

Someone mention generic Villains?

So it could be the Heart of Azeroth that triggers the Relic if we go by the Story-wise.

As Thrall & Jaina doesn’t have a Heart of Azeroth necklace.

Maybe ye. Although im still sceptical. I mean why would magni let use continue running around with it if we do not collect Azerite in the Shadowlands.

I guess Azeroth is still bleeding / Dying, so when we’re outside of the Shadowlands we can still collect Azerite to fill the necklace.

WoW lore in general is now a retconned pile of bull dropping, so it’s not worth investing in the story at all. It’s just there, a something they slapped on for the sake of it.

We arent lorewise tho. Nobody knows how long we are in the shadowlands for starters and time in the shadowlands flows alot slower compared to outside (even tho that might be halted for the time being because of the sky being ripped open) so in the very least we are inside it for the first tier (WoW time is real time) which should be 4-6months and i suppose we will be inside even during the next tier and probably the one after. Not leaving until pre patch.

This is the biggest flaw imo. Retconning has allowed them to expand the universe and make certain things more coherent, sure, but how can we take the setting seriously when we know that at any point, they can just go “Aw nah that thing didn’t happen after all”?

Imagine being heavily invested into season 1 of a TV show and rooting for a certain character, then in the first episode of season 2, there is a recap where the narrator goes “by the way, this character didn’t do any of the cool stuff you saw, and actually they just sat in the back eating paste. And also the universe is completely different now.”

You pretty much described what they did with ‘Dallas’, where an entire year’s run of the show was retconned as someone who died walked out of the shower, very much alive, and it turned out the entire last series had just been a dream!

Oh America…Never change.

Actually, no, Do…

I’m not so sure about that…

Congratulations for passing judgement on a story that’s not even been released, lacking all substantive detail and nuance.

Don’t worry, even after its release, it’ll still lack detail and nuance.

My expectations aren’t exactly soaring but launching critique at something with incomplete info is just a self own.

No. Humanity’s gift is the ability to make logical conclusions based on prior experiences.
You remind me of these “don’t worry guys, it’s just beta!” folks.

Nah, I despise that viewpoint. Declaring everything already lost just looks like proud ignorance and I’m trying to help you look less bad.

I think it could be really interesting lore.
The first ones, the Nathrezim and how the jailer fits into this new part of history.

History will prove me right I’m afraid. There’s no use discussing it. All we can do is wait for the disaster to come.

And if History does not you still gonna say you are right and history is wrong.

But to be honest, I also except it to be generic and bad. But I always do so I’m easier satisfied and never disappointed.

There’s some hypotheses floating around that he’s not evil for the sake of it, but rather has been dealt a bad hand…

A kind of “Hades” situation, where some myths claim he was dissatisfied with ruling the underworld but had no choice.
