The Kael'thas Sunstrider praising section

For all the haters of nonsense retcons, character butchering, thin plots and the rule of cool. Raise your voices in union together with me in order to give praise to the one Sin’dorei leader that actually was important and mattered. The King of the Sun. Last monarch of Silvermoon. The rising Phoenix. The blood of the Highborne. Legacy of a devasted kingdom fighting for survival. And one of the most powerful mages alive walking around on Azeroth as Master of all the important schools of magic. My beloved Ruler Kael’thas Sunstrider, last of his name, protector of the realm of Quel’thalas. Betrayed by the betrayer mongrel Illidan Stormrage, fitting his title, and driven on a path he never asked for beyond genuine care for the Sin’dorei, previous to the lore travesty called burning crusade. You may rest in peace now, tho the world of Azeroth turned dark without your guiding wisdom. Dead but not forgotten.
Belono sil’aru, belore’dorei.

I don’t think that he rest in peace after he was rised by some demon again…

One of the biggest mistakes Blizzard had ever made, Kael’Thas develope in bc

Rip Kael, was replaced 3 tools and lyin’ Liadrin, how sad. You were the hero we needed, but not the hero we deserve.

Funfact. He indirectly aided the Horde when he told Lor’themar about the Maghar Orcs in Outland who gave this information towards Thrall in exchange for a politcal voice with weight. He wasn’t even part of the faction yet he contributed more than other…individuals. eyes narrows towards a certain bull/cow-man

“indirectly”

You mean Lor’themar used that information as leverage over Thrall?

If Kael wouldn’t have gone insane he would have most likely rejoined or at least realigned with the Alliance.

Just let Baine alone!

Nothing but Headcanon @ the last sentence. Also, he alligned with Demons and Naga. Orcs aren’t that far off the road int that comparison. The break between the Alliance was already done and final.

Not as long as my subscription hasn’t died off…tho it is not far away but still.

Well ye, but I see no reason why Kael would choose Horde over the Alliance. There is no reason not to as he didn’t have any spite for the Humans/Alliance over Garithos. If he did then he would have a lot more hatred for the Horde/Orcs after what they did in the Second War than just Garithos.

Erm, what?

It wasn’t final by any means. What gives you this impression?

The connections towards the Horde had been made. His last contact over at the alliance, was jaina and they broke off on bad terms last time in Dalaran. Other reasons than that, he was also the one giving the orders that pushed the High Elves towards the Alliance, when they got banished for not accepting his laws about sucking mana out of living creatures. I just can’t see any official connection left here.

He allied with Demons and Naga when he joined Illidan and his forces. Were is the disadvantage with allying with the races of the Horde compared to those guys?

He made is possible for Blood Elf Warlocks to exist, by extension.

Blood Elf Mages are so “High Elves” pre-third war.

That was because Blizzard wanted the Blood Elves to join the Horde so they built everything around that, if Kael and the Blood Elves weren’t bound to this then they wouldn’t have done this. He was and always has been bitter towards the Orcs/Horde over what they did to Quel’thalas in the Second War. As well as that he showed no hatred to the Alliance over the actions of Garithos, we see this much when he talks to the Kirin Tor jailor.

The Alliance was the next best thing for his survival assuming the Alliance between him Illidan broke down. As well as the number of his people still living in Human Kingdoms, that is more than enough reason (assuming we don’t go off the retcon of all the Blood Elves leaving to go to Outlands rather than a select few).

That could be an issue, ish. It depends on how you look at it. Either you can look at it that the Alliance are harbouring exiles which could damage relations, or the Alliance is helping Kael by taking in the Elves rather than watching them starve improving relations.

He Allied with Illidan who eventually subjugated the Demons. Surely forcing the Fel Orcs to serve him would damage relations with the Horde more than improve?

Fel Orcs are, in theory, on the same level of evil as Naga and Demons, yet it didn’t stop him for teaming up anyways.

The next big faction at your doorstep to provide aid are the Forsaken, led by the former woman you once fancied and remebred dying as hero to protect the kingdom pre Arthas, vs the human kingdom living at the direct other end of the continent? Who has the easier shot here at starting new connections?

Big Edit:

We can agree on two things.

  1. We disagree
  2. We can’t end this discussion on any direction, because Blizzard failed to provide sources, on what exactly was going on in Kael’thas’ head, when he made all those pre tempest keep decisions.

The Naga at least proved the them they are trustworthy, and later saved them. The Fel Orcs are just insane used for cannonfodder as well as the Demons.

No there is still a difference. The Demons and Fel Orcs were not in a partnered alliance, they were subjects. And while to some degree you could say the Naga are no different then the Horde the Naga did not almost destroy Quel’thalas like 10 or so (however many years ago it was) like the Horde tried to do.

Yes but Sylvanas used that as Blackmail into forcing the Blood Elves to do what she want, and still does to this day. Would Kael trust the Forsaken as easy as Lor’themar did? Would the Alliance send aid to Quel’thalas if Kael asked? etc…

Ye well, it has happened now, there is no changing the past. I do wonder if they’ll make him more insane in Warcraft 3 reforged to fit how he is in TBC xdd

I hope not. His image is tainted enough and I don’t want to give the Garithos’ crowd any extra amunition.

Hey killing Fel Orcs is always good and Nazgrel aproves ont his context. One of the first things he tells you.
