What are they for? Where are the rest? Are they going full thanos with it? Will the Jailer succeed and actually obtain all of them, allowing him to proceed with his ultimate plan?
Jailer gets the keys destroys the chains that bind him!!!
Then dies in some random raid…
The End.
He’s lost his keys on the way home and the duplicate is inside, so he’s mad
Relatable
Keys to his chains, so he can leave the Maw to find a toilet and take a big dump after all these years. Within that pile of poo, we’ll have to find the Arbiter Gem, which the Jailer accidentally swallowed when he was a wee small boy. And his bad siblings threw a hissy fit when he couldn’t vomit it out, and banished him into the Maw, chaining him there.
Poor guy. He just wants to poop the silly gem out.
“Five keys to open our way. Five torches to light our path.”
“Five lanterns, now darkened. The flame they seek will light the masters’ way.”
The Jailer seeks something called the Sepulchre. The Primus warned us in his final message that the Jailer must not reach it and the brokers in Oribos mention it in part of their dialogue. A Sepulchre is a kind of tomb which begs the question, what in the Shadowlands needs a tomb?
The Jailer is seeking keys. The obvious connection is that these are the keys to that Sepulchre. The five holders of the keys would have been the five members of the Pantheon of Death. The Archon, the Winter Queen, the Primus, Sire Denathrius and the Jailer himself.
The Jailer was previously a member of the Pantheon of Death. He must have had his own land. He must have had his own Covenant and he must have had his own part of the Key. But he did something, something so horrible his four brothers and sisters cast him down into the Maw. It is not too much of a stretch to imagine his key was taken from him.
He logically has two now and one of those is the Archon’s. The Primus, who is likely the Runecarver, probably hid his before he went off to confront the Jailer but it is also possible his key is the other one the Jailer has.
The Winter Queen almost certainly retains possession of hers.
Sire Denathrius may have surrendered his key to the Jailer as one of the conditions for their Alliance. That the Jailer is in no hurry to retrieve Denathrius indicates this is the case.
His own key remains lost, perhaps that is what he seeks in Korthia.
I bet the keys are hold by the covenants leaders pretty obvious .
