Take your adventures further in the Legacy of Arathor beginning 18 June. You’ll amp up the challenge in Overcharged Delves, go Lorewalking with Lorewalker Cho, get a helping hand with the new Combat Assistant and Single-Button Assistant… and more.
DK set is sweet.
Quote from the article regarding 1 button rotation:
“This feature is designed to help new players, players who are trying out a new specialization, or those looking for additional guidance on the abilities they should use without the need to turn to third party apps or outside guides”
Automation is neither “helping new players”, nor is it “providing guidance”. Trying out a new spec is not fun, if your gameplay is automated. Helping new players is done by intuitive, smart, lean gameplay, not a class design that pushes people to buy a MMO-mouse, use addons, and read guides. Automating gameplay is not how to solve the problem. I thought this is common sense.
Also, you risk making the experience for beginners absolutely miserable, if they play worse than the 1 button rotation assist, because then people will tell them to turn it on, if they play badly, and they won’t learn their class at all. You would know that, if you played your own game. There are plenty of people, who do less than 50% of the dps they should be doing.
I hoped “rotation assist” be good when test it.
Since I worried if “hekili helper” addon later down.
so when does the season end?
My guess August’s end. So next Season 3
If those plenty of people haven’t learned the rotation uptil now .what makes you believe that without assistance they would had learned the rotation ? If with this tool they start doing more damage then 50 percent then that is a win in my book .
I really don’t care how you achieve your damage .the thing is you should be doing damage . I won’t have to pluck my hairs now seeing people not doing damage .
I see them all the time in M+. The reason they didn’t learn their rotation is that the design of many specs is very bloated, and badly made by Blizzard without intuitive logic. People wanna learn by playing, not by reading a guide and installing a weakaura. The 1 button rotation is telling them “Well, you’re too bad to play, let’s automate for you”, instead of admitting that their design was stupid in the first place.
If someone does 40% of their ideal dps, when they play Enhancmenet shaman: Are they the problem, or is the problem that enhancement shaman has like 5 buffs, constant, simultaneous procs, where you have to sit on them to work through your priority, many micro cooldowns that synergize weirdly, low survivability, and a bloated, spammy toolkit, that feels like a random mess? I don’t wanna make assumptions, but some classes that Blizzard rushed out feel like they have been randomly and chaotically assembled without any coherent logic or thought put into it, and that have been figured out by theory crafting communities to construct a rotation priority
I saw something about it on Reddit a few days ago, there’s this add-on that enhances skill tooltips to show every talent affecting it, which turns the tooltips into downright monstrosities, a ream of modifiers, procs, and other stuff, almost impenetrable to all but the most devoted theorycrafters.
Complexity-creep is getting to be a real problem, in raid-fights too, the number of things that fit together in several (Often obtuse) ways may be fun for experienced/skilled players (As long as they have their add-ons to help out, anyway), but it’s daunting to new/(As yet) unskilled players…
I wouldn’t even call it complexity creep. Because if it was only complex, it could still be intuitive and have a low skill floor, even if the skill ceiling is very high. The issue in the end imo is that it’s simply bloated and not really designed to be something, but rather just managed to work statistically. The complexity doesn’t seem like it’s by design, but rather just navigating through bloat and sensory overload with addons, third party simulations to theorycraft, etc.
Cool!
Can’t be much more disappointing than a patch that contains Horrific Visions and Dastardly Duos. So bring it on.
And another piece of equipment that is mandatory to get and upgrade…
I’m looking forward to increased drops!
The Timegating Legacy Goes Live 18 June
Recolored t2 yey
Looking forward for all the bugs this patch brings
Sounds like it might be a good time to farm some transmogs.
It’s going to have to be a big buff!
To the mods who removed my post, thanks for proving my point.
