The m+ community is mostly friendly and competent

Without a doubt m+ has been one of the best additions ever to the game. It is a great way to spend your pugging time in World of Warcraft if you enjoy small group content and try to make new friends.

In a 5-player environment it is also very clear to see toxicity and incompetence, but it is amazing to witness how little of it there is. At least 95% of dungeons in the +8 to +10 range are running super smoothly. Dungeons are being stomped with relative ease. Depletions are an absolute rarity.

Meanwhile players are putting out friendly greetings in the beginning, summoning others without even having to ask, throwing out buffets and discussing pull strategies or Bloodlust timings before putting the key in. During the run players cut the chat to a minimum and concentrate on gameplay. When the dungeon has been a success, everyone is throwing out ggs and the loot is being shared when possible. The friend list is growing every day. What a great environment to be in!

Thank you Blizzard for creating this system. In the future, could you please stop trolling us with dungeons like Siege of Boralus and The Necrotic Wake? Everything will be near perfect then. Thank you.

There are 10000’s of thousands smooth runs every day smooth and polite one’s but you never hear about it.
The people that complain on the forums are the one’s who probably make the issue’s and refuse to use the tools open to them.

A lot of problems with games nowadays comes down to players. But of course we would blame devs for bad system. Such is the nature of things.

+1.

I was beginning to be worried that I was the only snowflake that dosent see any “toxicity” in dungeons.

Glad to see im not the only one.

Players don’t design the game, but the problem aren’t the devs much rather the guys who tell the devs to focus on corporate interests and policies rather than making a good game.
You can’t make everyone happy, but it’s incredibly profitable to pretend you can.

or simply some people are expecting that players in their party should play perfect but if they fail than that is no problem … but if other player fail that is time for drama and leave

Yeah, reading all about that prevalent toxicity in M+ always has me surprised. 99% of runs I do are perfectly civil and smooth. Sure, you get an overly aggressive DPS every now and then, but most people seem fine. :person_shrugging:

M+ is easily my favourite addition to the game right after flying.

It’s all about the invitation-procedure.

There was a lot of time since I’ve last seen anyone hostile to others in WoW, to be honest.

Tbh the forum is a lot more toxic than the game, especially the posters who complain about toxicity.

M+ has successfully trained a large portion of the playerbase into really, really good players. I was really good at the game in WOD, as a raider, but Challenge Modes were really a niche content and though I got all golds, I only did them once and I’ve watched back the videos on YT and they look like easy M+ dungeons done casually, it’s crazy how much the game has progressed, and how much I have progressed in dungeon play (while still being fairly average in dungeons by todays standard).

That said, if you look at the best CM players from MOP/WOD, the guys who did it a lot, who did boosts and went for the records, they were insanely good, they were just a niche group of players who had their game mode added as something more relevant in Legion.

The otherside of that tho, a very relevant part of the game is now effectively challenge mode dungeons turned up to 10, which means the skill/gear/experience requirements to successfully complete them are through the roof, so of course elitism is through the roof and it seems tone deaf to pretend that’s not true. In pugs I wouldn’t even get invited to keys if I didn’t queue as a tank or with a tank/healer, and it’s the same for almost every other dps player.
