The Mage Tower - Legion TW experience compendium

Pretty much actually. I gave up at the moment for the mage tower, can’t allocate the time and can’t find a job at the moment due to Christmas time around the corner.

So I have 3 options:

  1. continue learning web development (IT) and work in a warehouse not to die from debts.

  2. Go to the army and start career there (we have semi laid back army in Latvia, and money is goooood)

  3. learn Norwegian on the courses one company gives and then provides with work as an IT support specialist for minimum of 2 years, and then opens more doors for development in IT field career.

So yah. Stress.
Worst part is - I can’t imagine and seriously think which is the best for me, considering IT is my dream, but money is needed and army is good for it, however catch is that first contract after an oath is minimum 5 years.

Oh and Mage tower greerr so angry

Done with Xylem for Havoc, about 61 attempts or so. xD
Only got to P2 under 5 tries i think, just a gear check there, so switched from leech/speed gear that i used in P1 to gear with sockets, and weapons with Sinful and Blade Dance enchants.

Learn Norwegian with that company that offers a two year IT contract afterwards…or, if the money is particularly good, join the army and specialise in SIGINT.

Can finally log in properly after a day xD

  • Havoc video and tips/talents used.

Tips:
a) for P1 to make it easier with the healing get Crusader enchant on main-hand and siphoning on off-hand and any leech-procced gear also speed gear to help with movement.
b) in P1 try and get Xylem mid always during frost phases, by interrupting Frostbolt
c) you’ll be tempted to interrupt Arcane Barrage… don’t, save it for Draw Power, you don’t want that stacking much, if any
d) watch for Arcane Annihilation and try to head mid before it’s active, so you’ll have a better chance at getting to the true Xylem faster, also use Meta on first one, so it’s back up for P2, stall a bit if needed before P2
e) for P2 switch to any gear that has extra gem slots to help with dps as it’s a gearcheck mostly and also switch your weapons to have dps enchants like Sinful Revelation and Dancing Steel
f) in P2 try and keep 1 of the adds alive longer by stunning it, stalling to get back cd’s is one approach to have Meta up again for more time

Talents used:
15 - Blind Fury
25 - Insatiable Hunger
30 - Glaive Tempest - best DPS option here imo, good for AOE and ST
35 - Soul Rending - leech is good… we like leech!
40 - Cycle of Hatred
45 - Fel Eruption - good for stalling to get HP P1 - or stalling adds in P2 to get more Meta time
50 - Demonic - only good talent for this fight

Done with Agatha as a Fire Mage, simplest encounter tbh, did it in 11 tries but it’s just cause i was feeling the encounter and not taking it seriously, else it could have been dead a lot sooner, encounter seems undertuned for this spec, which i have never played before.

Special gear was: 1 speed and 1 leech item, had speed enchant on boots and the 5% and 3% gem, they aren’t really necessary, but i like speed, the most important item was Leviathan’s Hunger as it gives back a lot of HP when used.

  • Fire video and tips/talents used.

Tips:
a) This trinket will help greatly in recovering HP: Leviathan’s Hunger
b) Save Frost Nova for the 2 adds coming from the back, it’ll always be up, then dispose of them at your leisure.
c) Priority on Agatha’s shield as the dmg from Dark Fury will rise pretty fast.
d) When you have to deal with her normal shield + impvincibility pop Alter Time, that should be enough to get back any health lost.
e) Feel free to use Arcane Explosion to deal with multiple adds, but don’t forget to watch your mana.
f) Make it a point that if you’re going to let an imp explode, to leave some way for you to move up or down as necessary.
g) Movement is key in last phase, but even if you get stunned, it’s not a big deal, so don’t panic and just look at your options to recover.

Talents used:
15 - Searing Touch - this talent is perfect for last phase to keep moving and get damage in all the time.
25 - Shimmer - it’s preferable to have more ways to evade
30 - Incanter’s Flow
35 - Flame On - having more ways to deal with the imps fast is always good
40 - Frenetic Speed - very good with Searing Touch in last phase
45 - Living Bomb - this row didn’t really matter to me, i just picked whatever
50 - Meteor - good for dealing with the imps, go ahead and time it to have it land just when they spawn

Done with Tugar Bloodtotem for Windwalker, about 16 attempts or so, but i went on about 10~ suicide runs to see the timing of the abilities and get used to them, about 3-5 of actually trying. xD
Special gear… just anything that had leech, speed or gem slots, enchants on the weapons were Crusader and versatility navigation one for better sustain.

  • Windwalker video and tips/talents use.

Tips:
a) Priority should always be interrupting the Fel Burst on Tugar or his totem, Sonic scream doesn’t do that much damage, so if needed let that go to get the others.
b) Stay calm and see which of the mechanics is coming up to see what you should deal with first, i did a few “death runs” just to get used to the timings.
c) The simplest way to deal with Sonic Scream is use Paralysis when he comes back up and then on the next cast use Leg Sweep.
d) I don’t recommend using BL and pot at the start, since any cleave will be wasted on the Jormog due to his damage reduction stacks, use them when he has no stacks left.
e) The small adds can be taken out easily and they don’t do much damage, so focus on any of the other mechanics while casually dealing with them as they die to random cleave/aoe.
f) Try and position so that Jormog hits the rocks, but if he doesn’t get them all it’s not a big deal, just be careful in Tugar’s HP to not kill him too soon.
g) Jormog’s enrage after Tugar dies doesn’t give him that much damage, but i recommend having him under 40% hp to ensure that there aren’t any issues with surviving until he dies, also i believe at that point Paralysis at least doesn’t work on him.

Talents used:
15 - Chi Wave - for a little extra healing when needed
25 - Chi Torpedo - can pick whatever you like from this row
30 - Ascension - i like the faster energy regen, extra energy and extra chi
35 - Good Karma - good healing in a pinch
40 - Diffuse Magic
45 - Dance of Chi-Ji - nice to have for adds
50 - Whirling Dragon Punch - best dmg option for anything

RIP Kruul 2021, 48 more mins and he’d have been alive in 2022. :sob:
Killed on the 57th try… most of them i’ve just spammed and yolo’d to get used to the encounter.

P.S. Wrong char. xD

  • Prot Paladin video and tips/talents used. Nice way to end the year. xD

Tips:
a) Use Blessed Hammer before entering the encounter to get 3 HP, after which once inside get to 5 before the encounter starts to get a head start.
b) Priority order P1: Interrupt Drain Life, gather the adds off of Velen (if he’s low this is prio 0), kill the eyes with Judgment preferably for 1-shot, and always dodge the Infernal’s slams.
c) Priority order P2: Interrupt Twisted Reflection (it places a debuff on you and will heal Kruul, can waste Divine Shield to get rid of it, gather the adds off of Velen, try and always sidestep continuously to not get slammed by the Infernals.
d) Feel free to use a Potion of Unbridled Fury before porting into the instance, as you will have around 24 seconds of it for P1, which should help with getting to P2 faster, sometimes i used BL too but only for learning about P2, better to save BL and your second pot for P2.
e) Usually you’d want around 7-8 stacks of the HP lowering aura around Variss, 9 is kind of dangerous to have if you’ll have the adds on you.
f) Always be aware of what you can interrupt Variss’s Drain Life with, as sometimes you may want to use Avenger’s Shield on the adds, so either get into melee or use Hammer of Wrath if you still have stacks.
g) I recommend getting Ravaged Seed Pod to help with boss dps and aoe the adds faster, especially good in P2, which will also help with passively healing you.
h) P2 is pretty straightforward in that it’s a DPS race against the boss Annihilates, but you can also delay them with stunning the boss, i recommend stretching his Annihilates with Velen Orb stuns and Hammer of Justice.
i) Plan your order of defensives for Annihilates, i recommend starting with Ardent Defender since it may come back up if you’re taking too long, I’d save Divine Shield for last in case you miss an interrupt on Twisted Reflection, to clear the debuff.
j) Keybind Goblin Glider

Talents:
15 - Blessed Hammer - Good for picking up the adds and killing them faster.
25 - Crusader’s Judgment - Best ST dps talent here, especially with Sanctified Wrath.
30 - Fist of Justice - cd reduction to have a stop for the Drain Life(when you can’t go melee) and on Kruul’s to delay Annihilates.
35 - Unbreakable Spirit - the CD reduction is only for having Ardent Defender on P2 for a second Annihilate if needed.
40 - Seraphim - on-demand DPS talent to overlap with wings for best burst.
45 - Consecrated Ground - good for kiting the adds in P2 if needed and picking them up easier from Velen.
50 - Sanctified Wrath - best DPS talent for P2 as you’ll probably only have time for 1 set of Wings.

Done with the Holy Paladin challenge, max 27 tries, killed on the 17th try on the last phase fight. First time got to last phase on the 7th try.
On the 1st phase I died somewhere between 5-10 times while learning how to deal with them, never died on any of the in-between phases as they are really easy.

Could have killed it yesterday … wiped at 0.9%, 2k HP on boss, granny can do a high dmg shot for 2k. :frowning:

P.S. Not on this char. xD

  • Holy Paladin video tips/talents used. Never specced holy in my life, so no healing addons or anything, was easier than i thought.
    Finally got the mount. xD

Tips:
a) Be mindful of the sting cast by the archer, dispel it asap, especially if it ends up on yourself, usually an ally will take it, but they take dmg as well, i like to get it and insta-dispell it sometimes.
b)Also the archer will teleport behind yourself, so you can control where he ends up by positioning yourself.
c) The most dangerous pack is the 2nd to last one, use most of your CDs there, the last pack is dangerous too but more manageable.
d) The phases between 1st and last ones are pretty easy, i never died there, you have plenty of time to wait for cds if needed, so don’t rush and you’ll be fine.
e) 2nd phase where you’re surrounded by orbs, i recommend waiting for the to get closer and then drop your aoe to whittle them down, once they are close to dying, bubble and go to town on them before it ends.
f) The phase right before the last boss, where you have to heal the adds and your allies, heal the first set, then let an archer from the 2nd set to get to the boss, it will cause a RP event to take longer before it’s spawned to be killed, giving you enough time to drink (do this first as healing your allies places you in combat) then heal your allies, and able to get holy power on the add before the boss gets active.
g) The boss phase, focus more on keeping your allies topped, yourself around 40-50%, but you need to take note of when the boss will jump on you versus when the explosion will occur, drop to around 30% when the explosion occurs, but have something to instantly heal yourself if the boss jumps on you right after.
h) Your dps isn’t much here, so don’t go out of your way to deal much dmg, getting more space will be more valuable in the end, keeping everyone alive including yourself will matter more.
i) Start the boss by using your cd’s asap, whatever you can in 1-2 gcd’s then stun the boss immediately, so you get him before he casts the leap and makes the dmg zone.
j) Worry more about healing than saving your mana, having 50% mana but dying or your allies dying will not be helpful one bit.
k) Use your hammer of justice to stun the boss on cooldown, don’t be like me and forget about it.

Talents:
15 - Light’s Hammer - best aoe healing and dps combo talent
25 - Saved by the Light - very good talent that can save yours or your allies lives
30 - Blinding Light - good for interrupting the melee adds knives aoe / last boss you can change to Fist of Justice to use more often on boss, to delay him
35 - Unbreakable Spirit - i forgot to change back to it for first areas, but it’s the best option here, Cavalier for last boss to get faster out of the dmg zones if needed
40 - Divine Purpose - procs often enough to be useful
45 - Avenging Crusader - good for any phase at it pretty much tops off you and your allies
50 - Beacon of Faith - easier to top off your allies with 2 beacons
