Just why ? I was hoping to play 2-3 healing classes this season once i had geared up and played this one a little…That was until i stumbled upon the ‘vicious jewler’s setting’ at the vendor for 5k honor and 3x vicious bloodstones (bloodstones cost 2500 a piece)
The jeweler’s setting adds a gem socket to your Helm, Amulet, Bracers, belt and rings. Oh and rings can have 2x sockets added to them. So if you want to kit your char out with a full set of gem sockets, It will costs you a whopping 100,000 honor.
Now i havent had a look at the gems yet but 8x of a main stat is going to be pretty substantial. Was this absolutely necessary ? Doesn’t seem very alt friendly but this is coming from a filthy casual. What’s everyone else’s thoughts on this ?
Didn’t realize they weren’t BoP, Which is worse tbh because that then creates a pay to win scenario. On my server that would work out at around 42k gold for each socket. How very dissapointing
You’ll then obtain more honor gains, and will help you hoard more of it quicker. With the banner, you drop it when a big teamfight occurs, and right before the match ends, and you’ll obtain a good sum, you’ll still grind but it’ll speed the process.
I kinda have the same feeling about the whole honor grind. for full gemslots assuming you grind out the honor yourself n dont buy the stones its a staggering 112.500 honor per character. If you buy all the stones its 45.000 and a staggering 324.000 gold at current prices. Granted prices will go down once demand diminishes.
If they had capped the amont of gems you could aquire per week to 1 i dont think it would´ve been that bad but no one likes to be at a gear disadvantage in PvP which creates the sense of urgency to get all the gems.
My plan will be to just get one gemslot for the PvP unique gem for each character n then probably not bother with it intill its considerably cheaper.
remember to afk in warmode and loot war crates and kill bounties. i’ve gotten 5 vicious bloodstones from those since the start of the season. i just zoom about the current spark zone (isle of dorn) and usually every 10 minutes there is a bounty or a war crate.
between this and queueing blitz/bgs i’ve gotten 11 bloodstones since wednesday, but sold all but 3 because man, 14k gold for a gem is too good not to sell - or put it another way, every point of honour you earn is worth around 5g. imagine telling that to someone in dragonflight or shadowlands.
im cashing in while i can. i imagine these will plummet to 2k or so gold in 3-4 weeks time.
Honor becomes a pretty passive currency to gain when you got a full honor set. You don’t really use it for anything else. I think its better than filling the vault and wait every reset to grab the tokens.
This is not alt friendly, and this is very bad PvP at any look. I was cheated a bit by promotion and army of blogers. But yeah, stop my sub again. Another shadowlands PvP Is something I don’t need. Sad.
you can transfer honour to your alts. its by far the most alt friendly expansion since maybe legion and even then its probably more alt friendly than that because in legion you had to grind artifact weapon.
my rogue has 16 minutes /played at max and is 627 ilvl
I literally fully geared my alt and got 2.5k rating on my way to it for the matter of 3 days.
Heres a little strategy:
Do mining + herb between the ques = more gold = more gems/items.
Get Honor potion for 15+ % more honor and guild flag for +15 honor and use the potion 24/7 religiously while using the flag at the end of the BG or while you return quests or free prisoners in Ashran.
-Que each of the BGs for the daily bonus Honor including Skirmish.
-While you wait for que do mining and herb as I said and watch for cache drops in each of the zones (dont forget its only WM: ON) they give up to 280~ honor).
-Every 6 hours in 1 of the new expansion zones a Unbound Spils cache that gives 550 + honor and 1 entire socket hole enchant.
(extra info, this cache can yield the enchant only one time weekly BUT you get the same amount of honor any time you open it + you get a gem instead when you already looted the enchant this week).
-Aside from that do your Weekly quests that u can pick from 2 locations in Dornagal.
-There also PvP World Quests in the open world that yield some amount of honor that u can do while you wait for que.
-In each Weekly Brawl at the start of the week theres a weekly quest that gives u extra honor too.
Bonus info:
Theres a SEASONAL quest for Alterac Valley, Ashran , Wintersgrasp. That give 1k honor each.
Another thing is if you get into Ashran you can go do PvE and trade those marks for honor gains.
If you a little more geared and u can sneak inside the horde base - killing a guard drops a key, when you go down the basement you can free prisoners and each one gives 250 honor.
Even if you’re not geared enough theres an easy guard to kill right there at the prison with 2m life.
If you like to do Wpvp you will need Net-O-Matic 5000 at one point, good thing is if you go to Boralus theres a quest u can pick that also gives quite a bit of honor and it only requires you to kill 1 player ANYWHERE in the world.
