The Maw - something is lacking

At first i did daily quests every day, however i soon realized that i am not having fun going to the Maw every day for the quests and same rare bosses kills … So i decided to go twice a week to finish weekly quests and things that are up on those days.

Anyways i understand the repetitive nature of daily quests, however The Callings are an example how concept daily quests evolved over the years and they give us more diversity (some you can finish just by running 1 dungeon , or by collecting treasures or a variety of things , and they send you to a different zone almost every day)

Not that i am complaining about Shadowlands , i like this expansion very much, however i feel like some things are lacking , especially the Maw outdoor content. It got boring way to fast for me (ofc this is my personal opinion).

Now the way i solved this is just by deciding to go there less frequent , but this does not change the fact that i think it could be a more fun place to play if it had more interesting things … (like maybe search and collect treasures, or kill specific creatures, or Scout different parts of the Maw … idk , just spitballing here …)

What do you think?

The Maw is so lackluster they force you to leave after 15-20 min

Lol, that’s probably the real reason behind this counter. Seriously. There is nothing worse than going into Maw anyway. Even Thorgast is better - and I leave Thorgast for last day of the week before reset, so I have it easier to force myself to go there for that Soul Ash.

I don’t find Maw fun or rewarding in any way, so i don’t go there very often. I have been doing soul saving every week because that’s needed for covenant. Been doing Wrath of the Jailer weekly in hopes of loot. Some quests. But slowly have realized i don’t really know why i would do rest of the stuff. :man_shrugging:

Apart from souls quest you can ignore Maw content (not including Torgast) , and rewards.

However other than for weekly souls quest i go there for reputation and Sygia (Torgast upgrades and sockets)

Maw is intended to be s dangerous , unfriendly and scary place , hence Eye of the jailor and no mounting (except for Druids). I don’t mind any of these things.

However i feel that it can be better than it is now …

The Maw is in alfa/beta/early access like every modern video game content after release, you should give them at least a year to release the final version (maybe more, keep in mind this is just a small, indie developer)

that’s funny

anyways i feel like Maw can be improved on. Hopefully they will think of something. In the future i just don’t se myself going there any more often than once a week for a short covenant quest …

something missing?
yup, the fun is missing.
on top they stole your mount making it the worst content ever existet

I find the maw ok on one character, couldn’t imagine doing it on 2.

this is exactly why shadowlands is so outstanding, this is the most time efficient thing to do if you dont want/ are boored and want the most for your buck…

I think we will be able to acquire a mount that we can ride in the MAW (i Torgast)

This is so true … I like not needing to do everything to progress my character … however i would prefer for some of the things to be more interesting

Seems to be very highly RNG though, not a guaranteed drop.

I’m pretty sure i’ll unlock the last torghast upgrade and only go there because i can’t get in torghast from oribos at this point. Spamming boring content on foot to get a socket on a gear i could replace next dungeon is clearly not for me (Somehow feeling sad for people who are going to farm it to progress ! Keep sane people  )

I quite enjoy The Maw. I find the daily routine nice.

It does miss a little something. Staying power.

Once you get to Cordial the next and final reputation point is a rather long process and you accumulate a lot of Stygia along the way. But you don’t really have anything to spend it on. You’re just building this pile that you can then buy sockets with.
I kind of miss there were more things to buy at the Cordial rank, since you’re going to be sitting on that rank for a long time. But as there isn’t, it rather feels like you’re just grinding through that rank.

I’m okay with the final rank (appreciative) not providing much more than the socket. That makes it worth going to The Maw when you need a socket, but not mandatory to do every day.

i have couple problems with maw

biggest one it is not fun to go there

and if i go there and wanna group up for boss
ppls who join me are phased

this is pathetic i need to go back to oribos to re-phase myself

are you kidding me blizzard ?

other than that, repetitive quests really bland and boring place

enterance to venari refuge perma camped by either ally or horde

overall there is just nothing cool to do there

I think it is 100% reward from Torgast Twisting Corridors mode which is not out yet … Low drop mount comes from event in Beastwardens part of the Maw

thanks, don’t really care about a mount for an area i won’t be in when i’m done upgrading (less than a month apparently to deal with this chore  )

Yeah, mounts.

I actually tried the Maw in beta … And it seamed way worse than it is now … But they improved it. Hopefully they will improve it more somehow.

Going there is rewarding with the tower upgrades and gem sockets… I just can’t bother doing it

All the Tower upgrades can be acquired fairy fast. Im half way to exalted and when i get it ill get those upgrades. As for sockets, i just don’t want to put them on any item that is less than 226 , it seams too long Stygia grind for 1 socket to put it on item that i will change

So when i reach max rep , i don’t think ill be coming back there for a while …
