This also directly blocks the completion of the mega meta “A World Awoken” for Taivan. This can’t be intentional as both metas are still in the game. The achievement stones cant fly requries you to earn 2000 flight stones, which is impossible as they are removed. The achievement stones cant fly needs to be removed from the meta of Que Zaralek.

OH thank god I’m not the only one, this has been torturing me! All week I’ve been searching forums for info on this and I’ve found absolutely nothing, with the sheer amount of time and effort needed to go into the “world awoken” achievement I thought for sure more people are still currently grinding it out and pointing out that the flightstones achievement is completely stopping progress. it surely has to be an over sight from blizzard, because there’s a blue post somewhere mentioning that the DF meta will still be attainable post expansion. But yeah I’m just surprised at the silence on this.
It might have been left in the game as an achievement, because removing the achievement from those who got it while DF was current, would be, well, unfair.
True, removing it entirely wouldn’t be necessary but maybe unlinking it to the overall achievement would be a fair workaround, or even a "complete 8/10 of these achievements below " type of deal.
Because regarding the whole meta achievement, this is the only one that’s completely impossible. The community feast one is a nightmare but arguably still doable if you put in the effort to organise it with a guild/community.
So I just wanted to bring attention to this again because there is barely any info in circulation about this.
I’m closing in on this achievement, mostly rep and rng achievements left. I’ve put a good amount of effort in so far, as many others have, towards getting this meta for the mount and as of right now the only thing that’s putting a complete halt on progress is the stones can’t fly achievement for Que Zara (Lek) seeing as Flightstones have been removed from the game.
I’m wondering whether or not anyone at blizzard is aware of this or if there is anyone that can give any insight as too what usually happens in cases like this? surely for such a massive achievement chain it cant be looked over and disregarded entirely.
Not all achievements remain attainable once the relevant expansion is superseded, and a new expansion becomes current, but the achievement remains in game, because removing it would be unfair on those who achieved it while it was current.
There was a discussion about this very achievement recentlyish, you can find it by using the forum search tool.
However that said, I do not know if Blizzard intended for this achievement to become unobtainable now TWW is current.

I’ve combined the threads there now, and I’m happy to let you know this is not intended and the criteria for Stones Can’t Fly will be removed in 11.0.5.
The change might not go live with the content update itself, but shouldn’t be far behind.

While this post is still somewhat fresh I thought I would bring up another issue that is still somewhat related to the meta achievement if that’s alright. The quest “horde behaviour” for the whelp day care is bugged, with the decorative shrubbery not being interactable.
Funny thing is the war mode trick worked for the first quest in the chain when I did it a while ago but not this one, also started the whelp day care chain on several other characters today, my alliance characters on silver moon are having the same problem but for some reason my horde characters on draenor can collect the shrubbery no problem, but I’m locked out of the dailies now so I’ll miss this quest, I’m hoping that when I comes back round again my horde toons will still be able to click on the shrub.
