The Missing Worgen Classes

Time to ride the trending threads of customisation.

Worgen are missing two classes which would make sense lore wise but have never been implemented.
Monks and Paladins.

Monks -
There have been questions as of why the Worgen weren’t given the monk class, moreso when every other race (minus Goblins) were given the class.

Some comment it is about anger issue or deep rooted issues. These points hold no water as both Orcs and Undead can be monks.

The more logical reason for the missing monk class is because both Worgen and Goblin starting zones are instanced and Blizzard didn’t want to go back and add more justification as of why.

The solution? Exiles Reach. This is a new starting zone which would remove the problem with the instanced starting zone. Just have Worgen monks start in Exiles Reach, this gives them the class and also maintains what is left of the timeline.

Paladins -
Be it ‘The Light’ or be it Elune, Worgen could and should have paladins in their ranks.

Yes, Gilneas was sealed off before the creation of the paladin order, but Crowley did send military forces out of Gilneas to aid the Alliance when Greymane would not.
If you wanted to have them be paladins in Gilneas, those of Crowley’s men who returned could have brought the ideals of the paladins back with them, as Gilneas already worships the Holy Light with it’s cathedral.

But if Blizzard wanted more breathing room, they could just have Worgen paladins start in Exiles Reach.
As this would take place almost a decade after the fall of the Greymane wall.

Others have mentioned that their curse would stop them. There is little to no evidence of this.
If the curse of flesh given by the old gods didn’t stop Humans and Dwarfs, a nature curse by a wild god wouldn’t stop them.

Or we can look more towards Elune and have the Worgen be part of a Night Elf paladin order. Adding both Night Elf and Worgen paladins to those playable.
Both are seething with a lust for vengeance to avenge their homelands, and who else to grant that vengeance than the night mother herself.

In Summary -
There is nothing in lore to prevent Worgen paladins or monks, especially now that Exiles Reach is a thing.

Worgen paladin could open the door to Night Elf paladins or visa versa.

If i recall correctly its more that Paladins are immune to the Worgen curse (or similar things) meaning that if a Paladin would have been bit by the Worgen (which couldnt happen since there were no Paladins in gilneas) then nothing would have happened. And if a Worgen would become a Paladin now its safe to assume that he would be cleansed of the curse by the Light.

The night warrior thingymajingy would make more sense yes.

If anything, they should be shamans. Worgen shamans make more sense than draenei shamans.

Wolf totems, fist (claw) weapons, summoning ghost wolves.

Pls blizzard, make it happen!!

Either way the coin falls, it still gives options, be they with the Human orders or the Night Elf orders.

As much as I’d like to see Worgen as every class, Worgen shamans don’t really make any sense.
Draenei @sspulled shamans out of nowhere, the only Alliance race that actually makes sense really are the DI Dwarves and even then that would be more dark shamans if anything.

No it doesnt. It would only allow your Night Warrior Paladins to be a possibility as that would be the only way for the Worgen race to remain Worgen while being a Paladin gameplay wise. Otherwise you would have a worgen that cant turn into a Worgen which basically means Humans .

Worgen would look really cool as Brewmasters I think

Paladins!!! Paladins for everyone!

Paladin night elf, worgen and high elf(rename void elf) makes sense

Well it’s not really “out of nowhere” when they retconned the entire Draenei race.
The Draenei were originally only the Eredar. Then they got retconned into what they are today. So to add some shamanistic traditions on top of that gigantic retcon doesn’t even register on the radar by itself.

Well, the Wildhammers will be playable (kind of) in Shadowlands and they’ve been Shamans for a good long while… So it’s not just the Dark Irons.

Fixed for ya
But your points are true and valid
Its up to blizz now

Monk~ Yes

Paladin~ No

Unless they will make for them Lightforged appearance. Every race would be a cool Paladin with Lightforged customizations :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

My thoughts exactly :slightly_smiling_face:

They could do with with a handful more Race/Class combos and I find it weird how they haven’t. At least they haven’t said anything yet.

Im all for it! More combos = more fun!

Oh and while we change stuff…
Cant we get Worgens with a more strait back?
Look painful with that neck, and the male Running Wild stance…suddenly your backhead is shoved into your neck/spine? wth…
Looks like that old transformers toys where you flip the head backwards 180 degrees
