The moonkin rotation makes no sense

I was playing boomkin for once in raid because they needed DPS and I usually tank.

I felt like I was just trying to keep up the 3 dots constantly and then trying to squeeze everything else in the extremely small timeframe before I had to recast the 3 dots.

The eclipses barely have any effect cause I just cast 2 abilities and then I have to reapply the dots.

I felt like new moon was useless because I simply had no time to cast it if I wanted to profit from the eclipses so I just changed it asap to fury of elune for the 1 button instant cast.

Didn’t we have an ability in previous expansions where other spells prolonged the duration of the dots. I think that’s sorely needed.

It’s different.

Last time I’ve played boomking was in BFA.

Dragonflight feels strange but the rotation is quite okay to be honest.
Yes, we have 3 dots now but that’s all we need to keep our eye on.

Free entry to solar/lunar eclipses (2 wrath for lunar / 2 lunar for solar), so it’s easy to spam ST or AOE when needed.

Energy spender like always starsure and starfall.

Energy gainers (moons, astral, that channeling spell).

I was in doubts in the beginning but once you get used to it, it’s not that bad.

I would say maybe a bit more difficult rotation compared to the other ones (specially guardian druid ^^).

Things will change in 10.0.5. The circle talent will be gone (replaced with an improved dot talent) so dots will last longer. And the kindling talent is one point instead of two. So starfall will extend dots by up to 4 seconds, instead of 2 sec (1 point) and 4 sec (2 points) as in live. Most people only use one point atm. So those changes will give us a better flow.

I play balance druid in raid and I’m really looking forward to 10.0.5. Balance is not fun to play in raids at the moment due to the DoT management.
