The most common RP AWESOMENESS on Argent dawn

Doing a RP story with someone either friend/stranger.

Any sort of story really and what’s exciting about it is the fact you don’t really know what the other person is going to do which makes it quite exciting.

As much as rivalry can spawn in this community, the best, most common AWESOMENESS!!!tm is definitely the very real, lingering friendship roleplay founds between people.

I adore conflict in RP - not so much OOC.

My favourite moments are when stories of conflict escalate and grow over-time, eventually leading to epic clashes. Bonus points for character deaths.

These days such things are rather rare in my experience, which is why I feel extra-lucky to have good guy Teocalli and the Painted Shields for my guild to have beef with.

This. Ironically, while OOC drama is the bane of RP, IC drama is incredibly juicy.

I concur. IC conflict can get you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Although I have yet to hear back from them.
the common awesomeness for me anyway, is whenever I hook someone into doing a quest for me or I manage to sell a cursed trinket to someone.

there is something fulfilling in just acting like a small side character in anothers story, I can’t explain why but I feel awesome when I add a little extra spice to some random players character, even if they end up never using it. the fact that I sold a marble which only tell half truth to a paladin, who would use it to hunt witches and criminals. Adding the risk he may end up hurting someone innocent, because of my trickery, feels awesome.

Not all villains wear capes.

This, definitely!

Finding chemistry between yours and another character, which spirals into fun and exciting stories. I love when you feel that spark of compitability.

Bullying Draeneis is fun

More serious post than my last on this thread: people who roleplay characters who don’t have the knowledge of a walking encyclopedia and are often genuinely confused by the world around them, especially so for those races that have lived in isolation for long periods of time (Lightforged, Nightborne, Highmountain, Pandaren, …) :ok_hand:

You can try to do this, until everyone acts like your character is a moron for not knowing the intricate inner workings of something no one would know about :expressionless:

That’s when your character can call them a moron right back based on their (misunderstood) reading of the world.

Rogmasha reads the world in the context of shamanism; elements, spirits and balance - even in contexts where it may seem entirely irrelevant to do so, and she’s happy to argue her case.

I’ll try that next time!

Although another amazingly awesome thing that I always love and enjoy is when people can barely hear each other and keep misunderstanding. Say one person has a diving helmet on or over gyrocopter noises.

“What are you doing over there?”
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN BEARS?!”

Crafting RP!

…When its done right and with given time. Stuff I really want to try out myself. I’ve seen some fantastic products and creations coming from this idea alone. Some crafts inspiring stories, art pieces and even new character concepts.

I love it when crafts are explained thoroughly and inviting as much involvement as possible to partake or witness. I’ve seen an example of the great Prosthetic-in-RP once, but it was a long time ago and I am not sure if the player is even around anymore, but it was great to see the progress of such item through stories and commissions.

Well my character is a moron, I find it more enjoyable to roleplay a character who’s constantly learning about the world he’s in either through experiencing it in roleplay or in character discussions. I love rping discovering new creatures and events.

Whats the point in seeing a dragon for the first time and just going, yes that’s a dragon with no excitement/fear etc ?

You can ask my character how his death knight magic works, he won’t be able to give you a detailed explanation and it comes off as second nature for him. But I can just detail in an emote how it works, there’s no harm in being ignorant IC.

Whenever someone tells you that your ‘edgy’ character was ‘interesting and well-written’ and ‘surprisingly tolerable’.
Gotta take what you can get, I guess.

But really, it’s nice to have expectations exceeded. Nothing better than that feeling of relief when someone you thought was going to be a headache actually turns out to be a total G, and the RP goes off without a hitch.

When Raptari and Pa’kurai roleplayers waste no chance to insult one another IC in new and inventive ways.

Goldshire.

Usually campaign camp RP is the best random RP. You have a little background, everyone is there for the same reason, it’s a lot easier to find people and get into it during a campaign.

When your character overcomes a rivalry with another. Maybe they’re forced to work together and it’s really tense for a moment but through all the hardships they end up grudingly respecting each other. As much fun as rivalries are this is the kind of development that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Plus this sort of thing often forms really interesting friendships (or at least new dynamics between characters).

Second this! You come across so many people and you eventually form a bond with some of them due to the battles ahead, I’ve made some great OOC & IC friends through campaigns!
