Hello!
Since our community is 25 years old, this is perfect time to finally release some music - especially on vinyl, since there have never been a release on this platform!
As a collector, the music is too great not to own.
I find it almost odd that all, even small kickstarter games have vinyl-releases of their soundtracks, when Warcraft does not.
I don’t care if the music will be released as a “25 years of Warcraft” or per game/expansion - but something needs to happen
(Shoutout to the one music-related question at the Q&A!)
Vinyl it’s a great idea to listen WoW music at the best conditions. I suggest an 180g vinyl recorded at 45rpm and a decent hi-fi rigs. However WoW music it’s outstanding in every way you listen it!
I have ever since vanilla done tricks like extracting music from files, and pre digital deluxe always bought CE’s to get soundtracks too. I absolutely love those soundtracks -sit back with wine and snacks, and just close eyes and listen this music.
oeh I could endlessly talk about music in general and about such grand music as this game has. oh my …
I also have the sound libraries of the companies that produce music for Blizzard. I.e this one :
hearin that song with an xray dog as picture is a little weird…
And after came the shock (i always make this connection) i had the 1st time i saw the w3 video in the throne room, i didnt play the game for 1 week.
If you love soundtracks of such nature - all expansions have very distinctive handwriting fitting the era and make good compilations from 1st song to last. Without knowing the title - youd immediately guess which era of wow the soundtrack is from.
There are always recurring themes - Azeroth and champions of azeroth have their own rifts and notes and so you hear those a lot, but whatever we may or may not think of gameplay, then music is just … amazing.
I can recommend people to seek up be it spotify or other music streaming service and give Blizzard soundtracks a listen!
Sorry for the thread necroing there but I wanted to express my support for this, not necessarily the vinyl but the release of all the game’s music in general. With Apple essentially fading out of the music selling and into the music subscription business which isn’t an option for a number of reasons it really seems overdue to find new ways to distribute all the music.
