The new dwarves don’t have an accent, all the dwarves do except them, I don’t know it seems strange to me. doesn’t that shock you? And why don’t they have an accent either?
Everyone has an accent.
They don’t have an Oirish / Skoootish accent.
They do it just isn’t as exaggerated.
I like the Scottish/ Irish accent they generally have (across…almost all fantasy universes)
But I for one welcomed the change this time, it reinforces the idea of the Earthen being their own, completely separate culture.
So when the original dwarfs and vykrule got hit with the curse of flesh they likely didn’t have accents either, it’s the flesh that’s needed to make accents so them have no accent or a very muted accent makes a lot of sense.
I think they missed by not giving them a Finnish accent, as the Earthen are effectively robots after all
They talk more computed, artificial, than like a living being, because they are basically “just” machines.
Hence they don’t have an accent.
They should just sound like dial up internet.
Because they’re not dwarves and have not interacted with the other earthen branch that became dwarves in thousands of years I guess.
Language changes relatively quickly, their “dialects” would have diverged from each other long ago, they shouldn’t have similar accents.
ahhhh I thought that Blizzard did not want to put an emphasis so as not to “stigmatize” a community.
