That and trade chat… No wonder in game communities died.
To be fair , I think it affects only players who sale raid runs etc. I’m happy about that .This guys were spamming trade chat like mad.

yeah you got a cooldown after x amount of messages to prevent spamming. if you dont send every 2-4 sec a message you should be fine though. i used to answer in pretty short sentences which i had to cut down on by writing more at once than a ton of small messages.

Also, you had to reach a certain PvP rank to post in LocalDefense in vanilla, and you were also throttled on Trade chat.

Im talking explicity about posting limitations to combat spam in channels such as trade. Where you can post like twice every min or two.
That you couldnt post in local defense during vanilla without a certain PvP rank is a different matter.

This is why people were like hacking the servers and dropping corpses to spell out ads instead of spamming trade.

More correct than it ever was on a private server, but yeah - it’s been a little wrong.
Comparing it to illegal servers is well…yeah you can guess. The hashtag has been wrong ever since regardless and we all knew this would happen. Especially if combined with the irony that people, while the servers were running for a while, were nagging for even more changes.
I play on Aerie Peak, have done for years and it does occasionally get quite chatty 
I expect more so now since the invasion of those other realms the other week too but I’ve not logged in for a while.
Granted its not as busy as AD but still has conversation at times.
It is also not often you see boost selling spam, more often than not its guild recruitment spam and even that isn’t bad.
