Bit late now, but you should’ve just let us convert our characters into standard Anniversary toons if we chose to do so.
I would rather be able to have a regular level 60 character but keep my Rank 14 gear and delete all my SoD gear than play pandaland. Obviously that set would be the regular one in Classic.
Crazy nobody is big brain enough to suggest this over at HQ

Sod 60 lvl character is not equal to anniversary 60 level, levelling in sod is 5 times faster. Also prices for most of resources on sod are much lower then on anniversary and it will break the economy

Obvious solution is to merge all ecosystem stuff between characters with some limitations.
Like let every achivement/mount/pet been obtained in any version of classic or season been able to use in retail/classic etc.
This will pop the population and also you wont feel all this stuff useless because the part of it can be moved to any other character in any other version of warcraft.
I have no idea why they dont want to merge like this all their universe of warcraft. Maybe blind, maybe stoopid.

Who cares? People be talking like SoD players didn’t put in 2 years.
Anniversary is a year long and is already at AQ, where it dips off anyway.
Sure, remove the mats and consumes - But if you care about speed levelling you need to get out more.
And? SOme people playing 2 years but some will create new characters and abuse it leveling on sod instead of annoversary, levelling on invasion boost in sod takes 5 hours. Also i am sure that bots will abuse it.

If levelling fast is an issue then put a requirement that /played has to be at least 48hrs or something.

i got 140k gold and a titans flask is like 50g on SOD, sometimes way less, sometimes slightly more.
i wonder how many times i can multiply that 140k figure by buying every single dirt cheap black lotus on SOD AH along with every single flask and gromsblood and just bring like, i don’t even know… 8000+ flasks(?) with me over to anniversary and sell them for what, 500g a pop?
oh wait, everyone has that idea so the only thing that would happen to anniversary is that their economy suffers a major crisis as all their materials and flasks get devalued by the tremendous amounts of mats people will bring over from SOD.
and you know what else?
you can buy the super duper ultra rare world drop flask recipes from the tarnished reals vendor for 50 coins each in SOD… and they are BOE… which means they can be sold… care to take a guess how much these recipes are worth on anniversary?
hint: at least 4 figures per recipe.

well, either i make mega bank, or the price crashes, but again; everyone else will have that same idea, so the outcome is rather predictable.
like bro, i literally have like 11 characters on living flame EU, 3 of which are characters i play, with the rest of them being purely stash characters who exists solely to hold or sell stuff.
i alone could do SO much damage to whichever anniversary server i would end up on, and now consider the fact that there’s at least a couple more guys like me out there who would do the same and/or make the damage i do even worse.
its not always as simple as “who cares?”… like, this is just the economy side of things… think of the AQ scarab lord mount which on anniversary is owned by like 2 people… you flush the SOD toilet into anniversary and suddenly the server has 500+ scarab lord mounts, but only 2 people on the server actually worked hard for it…
i dare say they would have a thing or two to say about SOD players bringing over their ez-gained pixels.

Alvl58 template character on Anni? Sure. But taking a maxed out SoD toon with all the BiS gear, ranks and mounts? No. Never.

If SoD chars aint getting any transfers then blizzard better go out there delete all them Season of Mastery Scarab lords, that got it 50% easier. They now running around on MoP/Classic…
