The past means of transportation between Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms

I am a relatively fresh player who started playing during BfA, and I am a transportation nerd curious about the changed means of transportation between the continents through the expansions.

Based on my experience with classic, the only boat lines cross the sea was:

  • Booty Bay - Ratchet (still exists)
  • Menethil Harbour - Theramore (still exists, even after MoP)
  • Menethil Harbour - Auberdine (gone)
  • Auberdine - Rut’theran Village (gone)

Then TBC came, and I assume it added a new line between Azuremyst Isle and Auberdine?

Further to WotLK, and Stormwind got a harbour and boat line to Valiance Keep? Also did the boat to Valgarde departed from? Did it already then replaced the boat to Auberdine at Menethil Harbour, and the latter got moved to Stormwind?

Cataclysm happened and Auberdine was no more. I assume the “new” Ruh’theran replaced Auberdine as a transportation hub back then.

When was the boat lines between Rut’theran Village and Azuremyst Isle/Stormwind replaced by portals?
And what was the reason besides “destruction of the fleet” and lazy developers not bothering to make a third pier in Stormwind Harbour for the boat to Boralus?

I know this is a lot of geeky questions.

Yes.

During BfA prepatch iirc.

Menethil Harbour boat went to Valgarde, SW one to Valiance Keep.

There’s a boat from SW to Boralus though. It replaced the boat that went from SW to Rut’theran.

That is what I thought since that pier obviously have belonged to the boat to Rut’theran. Wonder why we didn’t got a third pier in Stormwind Harbour instead?
