Lately I’ve been thinking on what would the perfect warchief look like. There are 3 characters I would like to mention for their strengths.
Grommash Hellscream: We know that he was the one who first played the Horde on the Legions hand, but unwillingly, and gave his life to unmake his wrong turns. He believed in the old ways, the shamanistic religion, the honor. And as we see in the alternate timeline of WoD if he knew that it is a trick he would not give in to the tempation of more power. True warrior, true leader.
Garrosh Hellscream: He was an Overlord on Northrend. He told Thrall, that he is not a leader but a warrior. Even though he somehow forgot to follow the shamanistic faith, and the spirits of the ancients, he did everything for the horde as a warrior he was.
Vol’Jin: The only good about him was his strict faith in the old ways and his devotion.
The other warchiefs were nowhere behind them.
So my opinion is that the perfect warchief would be an orc warrior with the faith and wisdom of Vol’Jin, the sense of honor and willpower of Grommash, the determination and battle readiness of Garrosh (Hopefully with the name of Hellscream)
What are your thoughts about it?
I truly hope that we will get someday an orc hero like this… then we would brake the alliance!
Grommash would’ve not made a good warchief, having played wc3 even before he double dipped into the forbidden lime juice and turned his people into strawberry flavoured orcs he was causing trouble for warchief thrall by ignoring his commands. True warrior? sure, he couldn’t stop fighting.
Leader? no, he literally convinced his people to enslave themselves to the demons once more simply for power.
Garrosh: He himself had 0 confidence in himself as a leader, then got carried away and corrupted by an old god. As for being a strong warrior, I don’t think we’ve had a lot of examples in that actually ingame. His fight with cairne was marred because the grimtotem secretly poisoned his axe, he’s a questgiver in northrend so lets be real we’re doing most of his work for him. Got caught up with Y’shaarj and apparently even tho he was immune to the sha’s influence, still figured yeah this y’shaarj sounds pretty based I should fuse with its heart.
Vol’jin: Kind of sat there, but atleast he didn’t have a controversy.
Idk man I think you’ve picked 2 extremely bad ones (grommash and garrosh) and 1 ok one (vol’jin)
Sylvanas outright abused the seat as warchief, so from the actual warchief’s we’ve had, I’d say Thrall is the only real pick of a worthy warchief.
All candidates are dead. Sadly. What is left of the Horde cast is some sorry booty losers with paper thing backstory and no edge. You could delete the council and nobody would notice it.
Uhm? He willingly corrupted his tribe to kill cenarius. Yes he gave his life to free the orcs but wouldn’t call him perfect warchief. Imo either Voljin thrall or gallywix
I understand that many loves the character of Thrall, but lets face it Thrall was only a freedom fighter. Yes, he rescued the orcs from internment camps, and got the horde together, and after that? He left the horde for playing world shaman. What kind of warchief does that?
I am an orc fanatic, and I say as a compliment, that orcs are the most badass musclebound barbarian warmachines. Of course the Hellscream family were the best of the warchiefs untill now. We are talking about a war loving races WARchiefs. Hellscreams made the Horde what it is today. They gave pride to its warriors.
Sylvanas was craisy. She wanted the whole world to burn. Just because she could not bare that Arthas made him almost godlike powerfull (taking up wraith form and slipping away from damages)
Vol’Jin I respect truly for his good and religious nature, but he was not strong enough to be a good warchief.
Lets face it warchief title is about leading a barbarian warrior nation. This takes a warrior.
Yes! I hate to admit, but even Varian Wrynn would have made better warchief than Thrall or Vol’Jin. Dont get me wrong I respect them, I love those characters as well, they gave a lot to the horde, but playig goodygood worldsaver is not what the Horde needs to be stronger. It takes what Hellscreams did. To train, prepare and cruelly crush the enemy.
LOL You’re right… panda bears and those vulpera…things
I dont want to offend anyone. hope noone takes it like that.
I’m just saying this is originally a game franchise that is abot worlds wholely burning in the fire of wars… That is what I loved it for… but the Horde still never had its perfect leader.
I like fluffy animals, really. (even though I think they have nothing to do with a world like Warcraft, but the authors put them in)
