I’ve tried searching around for previous threads about this to little success. From what we know from the information about 8.1, it seems to me that Tyrande will be the only ascended Night Elf. As player characters, we’ll unlock the skin, but is there a lore explanation behind this?

Have you been playing the 8.1? I think absolutely all the Npcs around Tyrane at that moment become ‘Night warrior’
I think any Night elf can do that ritual with no problem.
Haven’t played on the PTR, no, so I didn’t know that! Thank you.
Thus the void elves get competition for being the gothiest longears.

We’ll have to fight hard to defeat them. At least they get no black hair.
At least they aren’t getting dark eyeliners, so Void Elves will still have that going for them.
