In Vanilla 50% of your play time was travel, so the portals are an improvement. That’s not to say it couldn’t be better.
But yeah I guess that quest is a lot of filler.

Teleport there next there and then there and then the other place and to the starting map and on last go back to first location to give back quest…
Deliberately time consuming long journeys round the countryside on a questline, ending up back where you started, just so the NPC Questgiver can say: ‘Oh, I almost forgot, while you are out there, you also need to do this’…Strewth, deja-vu… it’s just like Vanilla/TBC questing!

I still use the Zeppelins to Stranglethorn, however the ship to Teldrassil is obviously gone.
Having the portals in the capital city saves a lot of time.
