Youâre giving the game away Perro-FRIEND SATH WHO IS A UNIQUE ACCOUNT
There would be peace on the server at last. All united as one, as Perroy.
However, what happens when there is no more drama to read?
The only counter-argument / criticism to this is that it can potentially become a situation where one person or group dominates a scene, and those who donât subscribe to the same style are left out of the fun thatâs going on. Thereâs always going to be people who react poorly when they feel the terms of RP are being dictated to them.
This isnât necessarily my belief, because Iâve only RPed in Orgrimmar a handful of times during BfA and honestly Iâve enjoyed every time, partly because it seemed like everyone was willing to acknowledge each other and interact, something I donât see in Stormwind.
Within about five minutes, one person I was with had been dragged into a drinking competition, another was having a friendly spar with an orc, and generally it felt welcoming to just rock up and see what was what.
He who controls the roleplay controls the server, and what Perroy hasnât told you is that we have insiders in every guild. These people - these traitors are worth more to us than ten legions of Stygians!
edit: please read Dune and then watch the Lynch movie
In regards to Alliance RP it feels like the sort of thing you would do if you wanted a couple of hours of social fun whereas Horde - due to its much smaller numbers in part - often try to connect and communicate with each other to create a story or build a community.
It almost always seems like thereâs a severe lack of communication and understanding between guilds Alliance-side which collapses into everyone simply doing their own thing and sticking with their friends instead of taking the time to create and build a large, connected community.
The rule of cool is despised in general. Even non-RPers complain in buckets of tears about the poor writing of this expansion.
Yeah, this. It doesnât even have to be England simulator: 1880. Iâve generally roleplayed as if the races of this game are slowly coming together underneath the overarching Alliance/Horde. A lot of lore simply make no sense from a social and political point of view.
Going on a year uninterrupted (two with a month subbed in between).
Itâs nice to catch up and observe big campaigns from an outside/second hand perspective and what not, but unfortunately any chance for a return to RP is next to none, mainly due to the slow but steady decline that has been the overall game (imo, ofc), and only now has reached the point in that while I used to think I could come back for a bit and do content/RP, now itâs more âWhatâs the point?â All the good memories are just that, and itâs honestly rather jarring to think from when I started RP (in MoP) until the end of Legion, that thereâs been a noticeable shift in culture, which I can imagine has also attributed to many other people quitting, especially those who have roleplayed for far longer.
Tl:dr old elf yells at cloud
It would finally be drama truly worth Argent Dawnâs time - two masters of forum arguments fighting to their last⌠a battle of the titans
Thatâs not a criticism, thatâs the gameplan
That can apply to anything - you canât really say âtoo many people cater to one style over anotherâ
Thereâs no quotas and people will RP what they want. In this sense, the free market rules - if you make a community and it has an audience it will thrive
Sounds like they got owned
I have brought peace, freedom, justice and security to my new empire
More or less my experience as well - supremely clique-y, more than the Horde could ever hope to be. Iâve joined Alliance guilds where I was immediately mocked OOC and IC the moment the friendly exterior fell away and they had got me in, itâs just depressing to see the state of Alliance RP go that way.
Oh, and two of these guilds had pretty nasty p*rno channel in their Discord. Asked me to post feet. Hmm.
This is unpleasantly common in public discords, Iâve found. Having channels for inappropriate humour is one thing, but having designated p*rn channels in public groups is very off-putting to me.
Itâs hard to take someone seriously when they are so openly, shamelessly addicted to that sort of thing. Like all I see when their character is talking about house politics is their playerâs weird inflation femalechickentai in the Discord server and it ruins RP.
And still I can find plenty RP whilst not in a guild. So it canât be -that- cliquey.
I mean, âThe Stormguardâ is not a guild. Itâs vintage.
A lot of it is having the willingness to approach others and initiate roleplay with them. Itâs an obvious piece of advice, but one that is often disregarded.
Loras tried to solicit pictures of my feet in discord against my will and post intrusive messages about how he wish he was the pebble in my shoeâŚ
Sorry, I only ask the cute boys for feet pics, not you.
You used to call me cute
did someone say feet?
< winks at you >
Your new empire?
Perroy, my allegiance is to the Albrechtites, to democracy!
