The raid loot system is horrible

How is this system supposed to work for PUGs?
You kill a boss and everyone is rolling for 2-3 pieces of loot. I finish normal raid and got 0 pieces and most of players in the group were in the same situation, 0-1 itens.
How are you supposed to get 4 pieces of tier set with this system if everyone doing the boss are looking for the same piece?
Why not keep personal loot like in m+?

played a raid and 1 person got tier every single time  Most people roll for everything they can.

Have you ever played WoW before? lol.

That’s the usual system.
People wanted it back for years (At least as an option) and imo it is far superior.

Your chances of not getting an item are actually not really lower. The loot drop is the same (Before it was just randomly distributed to the players as “personal loot”, so it really was just an invisible dice roll in the background). This time around you can’t even need on items you don’t need for your class (Like you can’t roll need on a strength mace as a priest for example), which is a big improvement to counteract ninja looting in comparison to classic WoW.

Also, you still have personal loot for stuff like BoE’s.

If you want to improve your chances of getting gear, join (Or host) a Softres run.

Have you played any MMO besides WoW with an actual good system? Shadowlands system sucked but at least you would get some itens per raid. A roll with 10+ ppl for a trinket/acessory, cloth/leather or forgestone seems like a really good system.

The group loot system works fine… for groups of friends.

In PuGs on the other hand, where loyalty, honesty, fairness, and camaraderie are crazy talk and everybody rolls on everything they can roll on, even if just to vendor or disenchant it, personal loot is vastly preferable.

Not even considering ninjas. It’s week one everyone needs itens, it’s fine. But have whatever % of dropping an item and then have 1/10 to get the item seems pretty obvious most won’t get any in 8 bosses.

why not make same as new world every time u loot a item it increse ilvl +3 so even u get same peace multi times it is alweys a upgrade …

Part of the problem is how it feels to the player.

If in personal loot, somebody gets lucky and wins a few items while others get nothing, it’s bad luck in the broader sense, but if somebody wins multiple items while rolling against others, that one lucky player wins it over other people, so it feels more like his luck is at the expense of everybody else, and people experience that as worse.

End result is pretty much the same, but emotions aren’t always logical.

Neither forced group loot or forced personal loot is a good idea , Legion had the perfect system for this but they said it is technically difficult to do which is bs tbh. They had the coding , they had it working and they scrapped it.

i’m also in the same situation nothing drops , they said for personal loot your character was doing the rolls on background and you only see the item but that is also bs cuz this new ( or old whatever you want to call it ) loot system doesn’t have any bad luck protection while personal loot has ( you always get some gear from raid). Also some people gets extremely lucky and yoinks every gear possible atm. We had a guy got 7 pieces of loot from 1 clear.

This system is supposed to work the same for PUGs as they work in a normal raiding guild, heroic raiding guild, mythic raiding guild, and freelancer 7 friends who are organizing their runs with other people.

The people resist not understanding the reality that group loot is nothing different from personal loot. The only difference is, RNG is more evident. And this RNG is terrible.

Today, in the end, we managed to kill the 6th boss on normal difficulty and I have seen the boss produce my 3rd tier set. I have rolled the previous 2 of them and I simply lost.

But today is a great day, I have luckily looted one of the most important pieces of the tier set item. I, like everyone else, simply rolled for it and win it. :star_struck: :star_struck: :star_struck:

You are supposed to get most of your 4-tier-set items from the weekly vault. With a very bad RNG, you need at least 3 pieces from the weekly vault. It is crucial to kill 6 bosses per week. Don’t worry in the end it will drop for you.

The people already have 3, some of them even 4 tier sets, this is pure RNG, no one is stealing your loot.

There aren’t any ninjas. The truth is, no one can ninja any loot in the group loot system if you are forced “not to roll” and you did so of your own free will. You roll for the loot that the boss produced and you win it and it is over, no one can take it from you because, in fact, you are the first player who interacts with the loot you win.

Don’t open your weekly vault until you consume all possible other sources for tier-set items. After you have done your boss kill (or kills, thanks I won’t do it anymore, I don’t have time for terrible raiding) then you are free to open the vault.

the chances are lower because now i can roll for int and agility gear. warrior can roll for bows and stuff like that i think. and so on. But im not a full time raider so :man_shrugging:

previously in could only get gear from my loot spec

How is it different from “personal loot” where the game did the rolls in the background and only told you when you won?

Only difference is now you feel like you had a chance, where before you didn’t. It was RNG either way.

And how you think personal loot worked rofl? Roll still happens its just not you who press need nothing els.

No you cant. You can only roll on items you can actualy use.

It is horrible. Getting in with main spec and the other guy takes the loot for off spec.

I am starting to doubt ninjas exists after reading this
https://www.wowhead.com/news/blizzard-clarifying-how-group-loot-will-work-in-dragonflight-and-no-weapon-boes-329108
Also I don’t see any difference between Personal loot (hidden need) and Group loot (shown need with the option to pass). The only problem I see with the group loot as someone pointed it to me is when items drop and there isn’t a class which can use them in the raid.

As people said no you can’t. Read the link i posted.

So the quantity of raid loot is still horrid i see.

Blizzard, if you want more people to do content. Make it worthwhile and don’t waste peoples time.

and i can use both lol int for balance resto and agi for my other specs. I can roll for all 4 specs. in the past ot was agility or int but not both :upside_down_face:
I rolled for int stuff  100% and was tank loot. can test it next reset to be 100% sure

Loot-spec does NOTHING for group loot. Your current role/spec is all that matters.

I agree The new Raid loot system is terrble.
But blizzard catering like Top end guilds not the mayority of players.

For me its like
1 It just huge spam in ur screen.
2 U can need stuff u actuely dont need
3 Easyer to exploit than personal loot.
4 Gathers to top end players not mayority.
