Curious why there isn’t more topic how powerful this bow is and how not good for the game the current design is. Now, I see myself as “lucky” as I actually have the normal version, which seems odd as I’m currently progressing in Mythic, but there are some less lucky that is doing the same with just normal weapons.
This post is based on playing BM, so for MM things might be different.
Currently BM is one of the top performing specs on single target, not in any overpowered way as we need to sacrifice all kind of cleave/aoe to get that kind of damage, and there is still other specs that is and can perform at the same level.
If we however need to spend points to get any kind of aoe, our single target losses value fast and we don’t really gain that much aoe (outside pulling 30 mobs where BM actually can do some dmg)
Now, back to the bow and why I don’t like it even though I have it. The powerlevel on this bow is just not healthy for the game at all. I simmed my current 405 bow and its about the same level as a 455 ilevel Searing Blazecaster (or any other general weapon).
Now, if this was some weapon everyone could just get, then that wouldn’t matter even though I would prefer a design where we are not forced into using a specific weapon, but this is just bad.
The 430 mythic version sims around a 475 ilevel weapon, so I’m guessing they are going to do something about it or we will be using this weapon for the next raid tier as well.
I would like to see a major nerf to this weapon and a general buff to hunters. The bow would still be “best” and something worth chasing, but now its more a necessity to even play the game on par with other classes/specs.

It was the same position for non raiders @shadowlands with the legendary bow. (which didn’t drop for me either) But to be honest… The raz bow dropped 3 times for me in just a week. 1 from raid, 1 from vault and 1 from hc weekly chest… So I get what you wanna say but its not as bad as in shadowlands. + with the new raid patch it won’t matter anyways.
It is not the same. Legendary bow from Sylvanas was a couple of percentage upgrade. Raz bow is 10-15% increase. LFR Raz bow crushes the Mythic bow from Enrog by atleast 5k. I wish it was like Sylvanas bow. Then it wouldn’t be mandatory for all hunters to perform well.
I have 10 Raz kills as we speak without even seeing the bow and we are 3 hunters in my raidgroup, so might potentially be months if at all before we get it on all.
Playing most if not all of a raid tier with a 10-15% dps handicap does not feel good.

Flavor like this should be visual not power. It would be way cooler and more beneficial for the game if raz bow just gave your attacks lightning animations or something. The only difference between eranog bow and raz bow should be ilvl.

With how important this bow is, it needs to be either a standard drop chance, or you should be able to create it at the catalyst as a tier option by converting your current weapon.

I think the reason fewer people are talking about the bow. Well, as a bm hunter our spec tree is pretty scuff.
We have bigger fish to fry.
However u are correct. The bow is op and needs to have some kind of bad luck protection. I am for chase items. Just have a currency in raid that can be collected to buy raid items. So that if u r three or four months in and you still don’t have the bow on heroic. You can use the heroic currency you got from heroic bosses to garrentee one item of your choice in that version of the raid.
Seems fair and would mean something on bosses u have killed a million times.

Considering new raid is coming between winter spring and summer fall, 3-4 months is still most of the percentage of the raid with a 10-15% dps loss that you in no way can make up without being lucky with a drop.
And they are also theorizing that this bow will be better than every single bow from the next tier aswell, which makes it even worse.
I do agree that we have bigger fish to fry, but I think it might go hand in hand. This bow should get a massive nerf while also revising the BM talent tree and probably some kind of buff to negate the massive dps loss from the bow nerf.

Well, for what it’s worth at least that means they won’t consistently nerf you the same way, little consolation though that may be.
Raz bow is not 10-15% upgrade…
Depending on what bow you currently have it could be.
In my BM ST sims its an 8% upgrade . in AOE its almost 10%
for MM its 2% in AOE.
I have 418 crafted bow currently. So having a wep below this without an embellishment the 10-15% upgrade isnt unfathomable

It really is horible, you either get into a Pug with 10 hunters all rolling for One Bow if it even drops lmao or you are like me, last in Prio in the guild for the HC Bow (I have the normal one), so i need to wait for 2 more Heroic bows to drop.
I dont understand why this Bow:
- Has to be so damn good that its mandatory to have it
- Has to be locked behind the last boss + being a “rare drop”
I would love a Bow/Gun/Crossbow again like we had in Nyalotha.
It was a good weapon, with a ok “Special ability” (Corruption), early in the raid so good accessible and it was not mandatory for your class to work.

I tried the whole Shadowland to get Sylvanas Bow on my hunter, never happened. (Might add I am very unlucky when it comes to drops in general.) I normally played M+ and felt obligated to play raid because of that bow.
Now I just gave up, don’t play anything semi-hardcore anymore, just logging in randomly to do some LFR. Not gonna hunt for that carrot again…
week 10 or 11 :
9 normal kill
9 hc kills
6 lfr kills
saw 0 bows after boss kill, 0 in weekly caches from timewalking/m0 event, 0 in vault
the season ends in roughly 4 to 5 weeks ( they said spring )
i am now 417 ilvl with 2766 score, timed all +20 and i cant 'maximise my stuff more 'except without bow .
can you please either :
increase drop chance of this item or remove 'rare ’ tooltip
or let us have it with a currency so we are not RNG screwed
or let us convert to catalyst for 1/2/x charges
or let us buy it with vault coins
or bring bag personnal loot because group bring nothing unless frustration and its a terrible bad system overall?

its been 10 WEEKS , i had exactly 10x 3 chances in vault, 10x 1 or 2 after boss kills ( sometimes 1, sometimes 2 loots ) , and i think 2 hc caches and 2 normal caches from weekly events
i literally saw 0 bow drops at all, nowhere
this is around 44 single chances of seeing it , yet its still 0 .
i saw multiples eranog rings, diurna and council trinkets and such, yet no bow
what a dog** system , i hope you are proud of you blizzard for this nonsense

Not a bow in sight, on the point of just saying screw it and only log on for mythic prog while hoping the next patch comes quick and this bow’s passive gets disabled.
Seriously takes the fun out of playing when they design your spec around this bow and it just never drops.
Also this rng is rng thing, there is no true rng in this game (or any game for that matter, google it), when people have 5 bows in their bags or 2 drop without any hunter in the group then there is something seriously wrong with your loot system.

I quit the game, feels miserable to play just for one item and be so reliant on RNG instead of being able to gradually progress through crafting and multiple different game modes like any other class.

Sure isnt a lot of fun, just did the normal kill, group had 16 hunters but i said why not, got nothing to lose, guess what didnt drop? this is getting ridiculous xD
Bring back tokens, let us work towards something that actually rewards us for our efforts.
I wasnt against this new loot system tbh since the personal loot wasnt very rewarding either with the luck i seem to have in this game (dont even get me started on my loot rolls), but now im starting to miss personal loot, there was a chance you could actually get something, instead of months with nothing.
It’s the worst experiance I had in this game. I’m benched without bow and I’m endlessly tortured with raszha kills. I have a question for God. Also blizz won’t give any tokens or bad luck protections cause they are already planed loot for all new raids.
