Wouldn’t be suprised with next expansion type /hug
“you have received a behaviour warning”
lol
Eh you can just “/E brush up against you and fart loudly” this will tag everyone, you might get 200 whispers kekw
Wouldn’t surprise me if it came to that.
xDDD I can imagine this.
Pardon my French but, sacrebleu.
I’m very much in favour of enhancing how emotes work to be more than just /me with an occasional animation.
And enhancing that would imply these sorts of things.
I absolutely think there should be a melee ability in every character that does a /hug or a /kiss or even a /fart which actually creates a little particle effect and puts a4 second debuff - but then at the same time you’ll have an ability called /shove that knocks people away. You can /chide or /bonk and so on which interrupts these animations.
With some modern tech the animations could be dynamic so it can figure out how to correctly move to perform the animation.
But of course this means putting in more effort to something that isn’t just yet another transmog or zone - and it’s all for nought if people don’t use it as a consequence of the game’s social systems having broken down a bit.
But yeah I really strongly disagree with where they went here. I think they should’ve doubled down on emotes instead and made rejections possible instead of neutering people’s ability to speak and roleplay.
There were TONS of complaints, and in fact it all started after Asmongold started a campaign of getting people to /spit on people that were on store mounts. It’s 100% the players to blame.
And btw, you can’t really say ‘who cares about people complaining on Twitter’ when Twitter/Reddit for example have greater volumes of players commenting on them than forums do.
I would love this. I always been a fan of emotes and I always had the idea of replacing the current racials (wich only cause balance issues in pvp etc) with racial emotes, so every class would get some emotes that are race/class specific. I am also dissapointed they went this route instead of as you say, double down on them.
I remember watching that stream. Was bloody hysterical! I laughed a lot during. But as usual, they always take away little things that people enjoy.
I vouch for this idea! Sounds like fun. Something many would enjoy. Something completely new as well as the usual recycled stuff.
/pick is what I generally go for
Musical talent on the /violin right here
I’m sorely disappointed in you Puny…
The amount of people doing this was very small. Easily actionable.
Well it started with Blizzard getting sued, and then they immediately thereafter called the community toxic, and then released a store mount, and Asmon had just had it and started the /spit campaign.
Now, addons being able to automatically send chat messages is a huge problem and a large part of the reason why the game is so automated and full of addons these days.
But most importantly, Blizzard managed to create an atmosphere of outrageous hostility in the community.
This complaint started like 17 years after the game came out and it had nothing to do with the community in general and everything to do with Blizzard’s general reaction to the lawsuit and the fact that they were far too busy selling store mounts and just generally disrespecting the playerbase, Asmon especially - with leaks coming out of their offices that they hated him and his entire fanbase.
He got mad, and he went too far - but Blizzard’s response had already gone too far before Asmon even got involved, and they went even further. The point where I started getting annoyed was when they fired the old voice actor for Kael’Thas due to an unproven allegation that turned out to be false. Destroyed him, replaced everything he ever did.
But as I mentioned they could’ve increased roleplay potential instead by using animations with various rejection or shoving mechanisms instead.
Idk I think the way Blizzard handled that situation was awful.
the worlds gone soft, Activision-blizzard are scared of getting sued AGAIN.
I’m sorry, must have been my lunch!!
Too soft it’s not even funny. You have to be on your tip toes everywhere on Blizzard games now especially.
Beans or lentils…?
QRD: Blizzard to reinstate removed emotes immediately, anyone offended by something is free to quit the game.
Blizzard watering different aspects of the game down has an overall negative impact, the game is losing it’s grit
This game is offensive to victims of war and homicide, I demand they remove the murderous aspect of the game and replace it with table tennis!
Honestly these kind of “corrections” to avoid offending people is very hypocritical of Blizzard considering what the player does, which is flat out genocide and murder… which is worse than using a /fart emote on someone. Nothing but empty virtue signalling…
Not necessarily. I am sure the problems they had with Alex Afrasiabi and other blizzard team members had something to do with it as well.
For me it was the toy changes that I found annoying and things that where removed that “prevented you loosing control of your character”. Carrot on a stick is a prime example. That was just going too far.
It happened because of certain complaints they received from the more vocal employees l, funny now that some of them no longer even work at Blizzard.
