The removal of some emotes

Hello.

So I’ve just realised that you changed the /fart emote when using it whilst targeting someone. It used to say something like “brush up against (name) and fart loudly.”

They’re very harmless emotes… I mean we play a game where we fight each other with axes and swords, killing one another, yet you censor being able to /fart and /spit on people. Are you going to remove everything that’s even the slightest bit “offensive” in this game now? I really don’t see why you’d do this.

Thoughts?

Tried in game, all I got was …

Yep, I went to do it to my friend, and wondered why it was saying that instead, as I had him targeted. Sigh…

/whistle was also terribly offensive, so they changed the sound on that. Quite a few /silly and /flirt sounds have also been removed. Thank goodness, now we can torture, incinerate and dismember in safety.

A slight over-reaction to their own internal issues with some bad behaviour.

They removed some jokes too. Most weren’t very funny in any case but neither were most of them offensive or beyond PG levels.

But meh,

New players are unfortunately too soft to accept anything that might even 0.0001% insult them so they had to go. State of the world.

Don’t blame this on the players lol. Not one single person complained. Maybe on the tweeeetterz but who cares

I see it as a concent issue.

I can choose to engage in player on player or player on mob combat.
I cannot do anything if you choose to brush up against me and fart, or spit on me or wolf whistle at me.

True. We all need a 1yd pushback called Shove. Only usable out of combat on allies

you can still perform the following emotes “against” someone:

/bonk
/lick
/pet
/sexy
/boop

those i could remember at the top of my head but there is probably more

of those only /lick is problematic.
/sexy has issues but isn’t directly effecting the other character

I take it back. Clearly someone exists who complains about a single line of text where nothing actually happens, even in the game world.

removing /spit was a good decision, i’ve seen less emote spam since they removed it. the farti one is a shame that was harmless and funny.

I’m very sad about it :frowning: I used to do that a lot on my pandaren

As a consequence of modern WoW animation, they should add a Pandaren hug so I can go around doing bearhug and crush people. :]

I would love that, but in the meantime, the /kiss emote is equally annoying. I’m now doing that instead

I find it harmless tbh. I mean you watch, kiss / hug will probably be removed next as you can kiss someone, and they didn’t give consent… World’s gone mad.

Thing about todays world is, there’s always going to be someone to make a big thing out of nothing, and be offended by it.
