It appears the scarlet crusade has (once again) resurfaced in the form of this scarlet brotherhood, that is mentioned here. I wonder if Blizz goes anywhere with this story, or if it is just a short episode, never to be heared again.
Maybe the Scarlet Crusade will take the same place like Illidan in Legion and save us all from this mad waifu?
The Scarlet Brotherhood seems to be insignificant, meaning that support for a Scarlet reformation is pretty low especially if you consider that they won’t get help from the Alliance anytime soon (since they are hostile towards them).
I think Blizzard is more moving towards a Calia-direction, with the Scarlet Brotherhood being a forerunner of the desire to reclaim Lordaeron. What we can infer is that SOMETHING is going to happen with the Forsaken in Lordaeron.
How can they hate us we like do the same thing. Stop blizz the horde won’t be able to use the scarlet crusade to say that the alliance is evil.
I’d rather we make them join us.
Scarlet Brotherhood will probably soon join the Horde because “The Alliance has gone too far” and they will start yelling “Death is the only way! For Sylvanas!”.
Calling it.
Not before becoming undead willingly.
At last, our time has come. The time has come to cleanse Lordaeron from all that is impure and finally create an utopian Human kingdom. A kingdom where Humanity reigns supreme in a pure and perfect society. The time has come to purge the impure scum.
Lordaeron for the living! Say it with me!
I think it’s about time we brought some balance to the world don’t you?
The Brotherhood makes sense.
Not sure about these ideas…
It’s true. The undead are a blight. Is this really what Lordaeron stands for?
I’m tired of all this hate. You want your homeland back from those undead monsters, don’t you?
Lordaeron for the living! Say it with me!
The only good undead is a dead… uh… undead!
Donate to the Scarlet Brotherhood! Help us help you!
Don’t trust the Alliance. They don’t care about us!
Want to know more? Take a pamphlet. We have many to choose from.Lordaeron belongs to US!
You’ll pay for intruding here!
For the Scarlet Brotherhood!
Lordaeron will be restored to glory!
Impure filth!
You stain… this land…
Our kingdom… will be… great once more…
Impure… scum…
For… Lordaeron…
Monsters… all of you…
If anything this seems like a recruitment operation by Scarlet Crusade… i mean Brotherhood
I hope they’ll bring a new armor set and an HD tabard for me!
Ah, yes.
First, the Scarlet Brotherhood will claim that “The Alliance has gone too far” and they are joining the Horde.
They will also say, that “Jaina has killed too many” and that “it is not the time to discuss it” as they will start killing themselves yelling for Lilian Voss to raise them.
When they are raised they will say they “always loved the Horde” and “the Alliance deserves to fall because they didn’t want to die”.
This writing is terrible. You should see if Blizzard has any story team openings.
You see, you think you don’t like it, but you do!
Continuity exists to enhance a story, not to tie the hands of creators!
Did I mention that Garithos will rise from the grave as a half earthforged, half arcaneforged half undead Sylvanas’ sympathizer?
He will say that he was wrong and Sylvanas’ vision of Lordearon is worth fighting for. And that the Alliance deserves to fall.
This is so cool, isn’t it?!
Guys I really hate that, I’d liked a lot more if they joined the alliance. It would have been way more enjoyable to have them fight with the lightforged.
I struggle to think of a single other faction in fantasy that are more of a punching bag than the Scarlet Crusade.
They are the definition of redshirts.
They will appear with a badass army of supposedly elite paladins and priests, only to get utterly humiliated and destroyed at every turn and opportunity with nothing to show for it. Often against the enemy type they’re supposed to excel against(undead).
Again.
And again.
And again.
Against the Horde, against the Scourge, against the Alliance, against Everyone.
For a faction with so many resources, I cannot think of a single decisive victory or moment for the Scarlet Crusade ingame.
I remember it was fun fighting them in vanilla, but ever since then, I have just felt sorry for the Scarlet Crusade whenever we met them again.
I like this. Would be cool to have a radical human faction seeking to destroy the forsaken, giving Blizzard the opportunity to finally give the forsaken a sympathetic conflict.
Speaking of resources, I think we’ve finished them off a few times already, so this Scarlet Brotherhood shouldn’t really have any resources to begin with.
We attacked the Scarlet Monastery in Vanilla, and the Death Knights of Acherus destroyed Havenshire and New Avalon. The Scarlet Onslaught was pretty much annihilated in Northrend, especially in Dragonblight. The Ebon Blade dealt another blow to them in the Scarlet Monastery, again, which also underwent a revamp in MoP for some reason.
So uh, this Scarlet Brotherhood, I wonder where they get even one soldier and weapon from.
Might be related to the datamined documents “Traitor King” and whatever the rest was called.
Which they will hamfist as usual and it will lose any sympathy that is possible to gain.
They’ve made life their enemy and always attempt to destroy it at every turn, hard to feel sympathy there.
The Human Kingdoms not all life.
Well at least according to every Forsaken NPC that gives us an answer to this.
“Death to the living!” and “Death is the only way” seem to be the only warcries the Forsaken know, so…
