The Shadowlands disaster called MAW

Crafter’s Mark 2 recipe
Perdition Hold unlock
Beast Warres unlock
etc…
are NOT account wide upgrades. I still need to get max rep with her on literally every character.

in fact is too difficult go there.
I dont find maw so bad. Isnt faceroll: there is danger. Finally. Othere zones are really easy.
Dont go there: isnt mandatory

Welcome to what is the “Literal” Hell of Azeroth!

Well, you are a living mortal in the land of the dead, chances are they would spot something that isn’t of their own spiritual kin as distressing.

The Jailer is preparing an army, the idea is to keep it secured at all times.

You’re not suppose to be in there until you get a quest from Ve’nari that’ll make you IMMUNE to the fear effect, thats on you for impatience

I mean, if I ruled a land of dead and damned, I too would want any mortal trespassers to be locked of their transport, how dare they come to my house and break my wonderfull collection of pots!

But seriously, on part 4: You have yourself to blade, if you see it’s being impossible, that means you shouldn’t be there UNTIL Ve’nari gives you a quest that gives you IMMUNITY to that fear.

And 5: I agree, it’s a pain, but I see why they did it. Same thing in Legion where you couldn’t fly in Argus

I like it, it is well designed and a challenge, a lot of people who don’t like it have the mindset that they are some demi-god and should pull the whole map and nuke it in one CD, in the Maw you are a pleb, stuff will kill you, death is punishing. You must play with that in mind. I’d like them to do more content like it.

Just get used to the maw you eventually learn all the tricks and learn way around it, its not worth skiping as it can make thorgast quite a lot easier to.

One of the best zones in wow,for a long time.
1 open your eyes?
2 kill them?
3 go around?
4 make some friends to help?
5 maybe time to make rep so you can go there?
6 get good!

Me and all the friends i ve talked to agree that the maw is the worst area and we all hate going there. That said i have no suggestions of how it could get better, i hate this map to its core.

We did get warned the Maw was a zone in which we’re not expected to spend our time. That it’s supposed to be one to go to do our business, and get out of. So fair enough. It’s what it was designed to be.

And yet. It’s no place I want to do any business at the moment. Glad others find their fun there. Maybe one day I’ll stick it out. These days the time is too short, I never can finish all the things I want to do before it gets too stressful.

I kinda made my freedom with the Maw. When I was first sent to Perdition Hold I was devastated. No chance to do the quest. No chance to even just get to the daily quest giver. No help because no group because of phasing and so on.

But I learned my lesson. Always have invis pots with you. Always have that port back to Venari with you. Kill as few npcs as posslble to no raise your Jailor level more than you have to. Start with the most difficult/farthest away quests first so you go there before you are hunted. And, although this is mean, (ab)use the mistakes made by others.

I managed with my disc priest to even farm in forbidden zones not being unlocked yet and also raiding the big elites while being feared/horrified occassionally so this is not the main issue. Cloth is ok if you are a healer… Sometimes i save other players when i meet someone in troubles like being 3000hp among 8 mobs stealing them their chickens dinner.
Technically, maw is NOT the worst thing in shadowlands, i would say its something unique, not pathetically easy and it requires sometimes some brain cells to bypass problems. Good 70 percent of metacritic for maw. The main issues are things which are not working as intended and may lead to frustration.

I couldn’t do soul eaters hunt, the damn mobs never spawned…

I experienced week one for fun, knowing that I wasn’t meant to be there I just looked around and died a lot because you cant survive for long when you get feared into mobs and take 70% damage from one fear as the ability itself.

However, there is part of the story later that allows you to use an item to not have the negative effect happen anymore.

Pretty sure the best class atm in the maw would be a night elf druid. got the mount, the furtivity to avoid big chunks of pack and night elf furtivity to reset agro…

They did indeed.

EDIT: They ran out of time, did not account for the fact nobody thought it was any worthwhile experience. Yet they put arguably progress stuff (sockets) behind it. disgusting.

You can’t even grind it out, there’s no catch up, no grinding that allows you to get there faster.

Goes a bit hand in hand. With the recent changes I expected rightful nerfs to both of my classes I play, Druid and Monk. Monk was hit with the absolute miniscule nerf that wont affect a thing.

While all classes were able to clear Layer 8 as it became available, it was clear from the different experiences there are massive differences in powers. Monks have like 6 different ones that makes you unstoppable, and another 4 that comboes with each other very well.

Going onto my main I main, a druid, I see mostly garbage, but druid alongside Monk have commons being their second strongest, apart from Epic, while other classes need rares or epic to actually have fun. Which is a shame. I love Torghast, and can’t wait for more (Twisting Corridors).

EDIT: I’m pretty certain no other expansion saw these many dungeon changes even, where Spires of Ascension has been absolutely rammed into the ground because how overtuned it was.

And the second boss is a complete joke with the design, absolute disaster, most can’t grasp it, neither can I. I can two man every other boss in any mythic+ difficulty, but how can the second boss in SoA deal unhealable damage to one party member from an unavoidable DOT. I don’t get it.

I don’t do much there beside weekly quest and going to Torghast, but for once they actually managed to create a zone that feel oppressing and a bit dangerous. If there was significant rewards from it (a bit like Torghast) that would be better though.

They are, you can farm enough ores here, i get 10-15k per every run trough maw just by collecting all veins and flowers around.

The Beastwarrens is a closed section. will be open probably next patch.
only testers and devs can walk inside.

about the rest of your post.
great, it seems like they succeeded with their goals. they WANTED the players to hate this place. they said it themselves. the maw is NOT a place you can just wonder around and hang out. in the maw you are being watched. its a dangerous ‘in and out’ territory

The Maw is supposed to be the version of hell for the absolute worst. What did you expect?
A beach and drinks?
