I once again have the bug that wont let me mount “Kalu’ak Whalebone glider”.
Same “the spell is not available to you” bug.
Just posting in hopes of finding a workaround.

They worked fine until about 30 min ago. I have the mount and pets in book but when I try to use it says ‘spell not available to you.’
You may want to double-check everything worked out okay with the payment for the related order. If there was any issue with the transfer of funds it’d lead to the related perks being disabled, with results very much like you described.
Also having this problem currently in Wotlk Classic. Cant use my mount or pet or the Lucky Lure, told ‘Spell not available to you’. I checked and the payment for it cleared so it’s not a payment issue.
Also having this problem; once yesterday and again now. Deleting WTF and Cache do not fix it.
Worked for a day now i get, “the spell is not available to you”.

Got the same issue on my account after Pyrewood crashed today.

yeah same issue… this is kinda sad… at least I still have my boosted Rogue… do I need to submit a ticket for this or will there be a blanket fix?
If this is not a payment-induced issue (those we obviously couldn’t fix from our end) but rather a byproduct of a server-side conflict then this should be cleaned up soon.

Really hope a resolution is found soon; as a result, I can’t fly whatsoever as the Kite is my only flying mount. I’m not sure how it fixed itself yesterday the first time it broke but I can’t repeat it today at all.
This seems to fix itself in few hours. Still annoying if you got like few hours to play per day, starting to feel I should have skipped buying Epic Upgrade.
I have the same issue with a twist.
I can use the items on 1 character, and get this error on a 2nd.
FYI this tends to be fixed the following day when this occurs. It will usually remain working until the big lag spikes start.
Also, you’ll be unable to get the quest completed on alts who haven’t got it. There’s a huge number of posts on the US forums reporting it, and obviously it’s been acknowledged above.
For me it broke after I got DCd during the lag spikes on Gehennas (which is horrible and been reported multiple times as well). Then the next day it was working again. But then again after the DC it stopped working. It’s quite annoying because I didn’t want to buy another temporary fast mount on my alt. All 3 items do not work: glider, tuskar fisher guy and the pet.
Just logged in today and now it’s “fixed” again. One more thing to note is that when it is in a “broken” state, you don’t see the quest at the Inn Keeper on the chars that you didn’t pick it yet. But when it gets fixed, I can see the quest again.
My guess is that the server somehow flagging you as “not available for the quest” thus also flagging all the items from the quest reward to not be available, even if you physically have them in your bags and/or Pets/mounts list.
UPD: Got disconnected today, relogged, the item is not available again ><
We’re 6 days on from this post and still no further forward.
I was using the mount with no issues and now can no longer use it.
Characters that haven’t picked up the quest and gained the item can no longer see the quest.
Just happened to me to, cleaned all addons, cache, still no luck also get booted from game frequently now.
