I dont have beta access but I watched a lot of streams and the first thing i noticed is the dumped down gameplay. We got more buttons to press, but most buttons do pretty much nothing.
If you take a look at the damage meters, you will see in many cases that 1 ability deals 50-70% of the overall damage.
Frostmage for examples deals its main damage with icelance. You are pretty much spamming icelance most of the time. Super boring.
Monk deals no damage until they can use Touch of Death and then its their main damage source.
I was hoping gameplay would go back to normal after we got rid of corruptions.
My main problem with corruptions was exactly this. Its a passive proc thats deals most of your damage. Was this gamedesign?
Is this the new normal? the gameplay feels soooo bad with this 1 button spam to deal damage…
You can go into PTR and test these yourself, get a feel of your favourite classes (and help to report some bugs in the same go) and see if it feels dumped down for you. Give feedback too, general beta forums allows everyone to post not just beta invitees.
Personally i have been pretty happy with classes i have tested in beta. They are not all what i would hope for but they don’t, at least, feel any worse (or dumped down) than now. Personal opinion, ofc.
I played on the ptr.
The classes dont play the same on the ptr because there are no legendarys. And from what ive seen, they are part of the problem. They make some ability so strong that they deal all the damage.
Its the corruption situation all over again. It was a bit worse because they were all passive procs. But you were still doing your normal rotation. Now is 1 button spam which feels bad
Not surprising. Current development team don’t exactly know what to do or how to flesh-out classes and specs because of their dependency on artificial systems that ‘make’ the class/specs, such as essences, azerite, corruptions, etc.
Thats one thing most streamers/youtubers etc… are saying and i think its true. They dont improve the actuall class. They just give every class borrowed powers that change every expansion.
I dont understand why they took that path. They should at least explain why they think its a good idea. But blizzard communication…
I wish they would at least try to explain their design philosophy and try to communicate with some people of the community.
People like Preach and Asmongold and other streamer/youtuber would love to talk to them and give them some feedback. But for some reason they dont use the community for feedback.
I would love to see some class balancing/tuning outside of the borrowed powers. They never adressed the core problem with some classes. I like to play monk, but monk has basic flaws in the class design that make monk always fall behind after some time. Monk has many bugs for years and theyve got a scalling problem for years. But nothing changes…
It took them 4 month to even make a single post in the monk forum. Why?

Most of the unpruning is pretty garbage tho, corruption for destro lock and it’s a hardcast and does miniscule damage, not even gonna go on the bar unless it’s either instant or does more damage.
Im not bothering other people… Thats a big difference.

If you are very new to this place, then I can say, that this is not the worst you will experince - this is how this forum is.
If you feel really annoyed by a post: Ignore it!
And only return when you feel like you can give a response without being to angry - this forum is not worth loosing your head for.
