Hey fellow wow players (and perhaps a blizz dev)
As the title states this is my thoughts on the current state of the game. First I would say that i’ve enjoyed TWW so far. Besides the whole early access BS (hated it even tho i had it), the launch was solid, lvl’ing campaign fun, story alright with more goodness to come. Hopefully. All in all i enjoyed myself, but that doesnt mean there are problems with the game atm… At all!!!

Personally im not a fan of the pre season week(s), where no endgame system is running, to give ppl a chance to catch up and experience the newly released content. I hear the argument for why its good and needed, but i disagree. The story campaigns arent enough to fill out the week. Especially when its timegated like Renzik standing there with a timer above his head. Class/spec changes are fun to explore, but not in last season dungeons with last season rewards. Atleast not imo. Sweaties will sweat so i dont see a point in non-sweats catching up for a week, only to get out-sweated anyway.

Classes and specs: I have never had a tougher time picking a main as I’ve had this expac. I’m an altoholic, no doubt about it, but this time its because every single class/ spec has a huge annoyance for me. Be it tiny windows to do your dmg, so that when having to do mechanics, you’re insanely punished on parses (parses does matter. Let’s not pretend they don’t). Or aweful pet AI, complicated rotations where the slightest framedrop makes it unplayable ( I know im not the only one experiencing INSANE framedrops in raids). Be it balancing between hero specs, where one is waaaay better than the other but i dont enjoy it at all. Stuff like that. Yes thats a me issue, I get that. Just putting it out there.
I’m not a Hall of Fame, CE or high M+ pusher. I’m a “let’s see how far we can get on mythic in raids” and a “pushing slightly beyond portals in M+” -kinda guy. The ppl who are top players can pull off insane numbers with these classes and specs. Problem is when tuning happens due to it, it leaves players ,not able to play like that, worse off. This is not targeted at the top players. This is more a point to blizz about maybe not tune the game for such a small % of the player base. Let the top players pull off insane shizznezz. They’ve earned itAnd let’s not make top plays, builds and so on, be the norm. Let the norm be the norm and exceptional be execptional.

Mythic +: I had fun in S1, even though it was tough and frustrating at times. Glad to see lessons was learned and improved upon for S2. S2 has been fun also. The biggest complaint I have is a community problem. The whole META chasing is crazy. I get wanting to increase success ratio in keys, but META specs doesnt mean great player. Again seeing what top players do, doesnt mean everybody can do it. Expecting 2k rating ppl to do 3.5k plays in pugs is insane to me. Not sure what the solution is though.

Delves: I think delves are a great addition to the game. If you take it for what it is. For me its a fun way to gear up main at the beginning of the season and otherwise a great way to try out all these alts i talked about. Tank spec for brann was a good call. And the Zek’vir/Underpin option is a fun test.

Warbands: Again a win in my book. Having rep be for all your chars is HUGE!!! Unlocking camp sides is a fun little extra something. Warband bank = Win! Not much else to say.
-
Crafting: I’ve always been someone who loves having all professions maxed to be self sufficient, and thats still the case. I like the new system implimented in Dragon Flight, and i think its going in the right direction with the stuff added in TWW. Such as patron orders to earn knowledge points and so on. I hope blizz keeps improving upon the system, like the removal of unnecessary steps and adding more transparency for how the system works.

Patch 11.1.5: … What? … Why? So .5 and .7 patches is not a major thing, but they still matter. I normally check out and engage in these events and stuff, if nothing else to check out story and see if I like it. I did a little grinding on the siren isles, nothing major but still and that was fine. Not content that makes me excited, but ok. This time around though… I havent touched it (yet) and I’m unsure if i will. If everything would have been released on patch day sure, but I was sick of this patch even before release. I know there can be 100092 reasons why they chose to launch it like this, but it doesnt make sense to me. I cant help but feeling let down by this whole timegated content but with a bunch of fresh stuff on the wow store. Not saying that the issues with 11.1.5 is bacause devs were working on stuff for the store, but the timing of it feels like a slap in the face. And that brings us to…

Dinars: I’m most likely not gonna benefit from these dinars. Normal raid and lfr players will get a huge power bump. Mythic raiders will enjoy some bad luck protection. Curve, m+ and pvp players… hmm not so much. It is what it is. Not too salty about it, but the system seems weird to me.
I think the last point i wanna mention is…
- Trading post: I think its fine ppl can get a lot of cute stuff to better express themselves in game, even if it breaks immersion seeing a tauren in a onesie with butterfly wings swinging a candy cane at a boss, but lets not forget to put awesome, badass, worldending looking stuff on there aswell. Balance is key… Let there be butterflies and unicorns but also brutal armor and weapons. It is WARcraft after all
Thats it for me… For now And I know that I need to l2p, get good and all that and no you can not have my gold. Take care friends!!!
