Although it sounds like he is now staying and all this is just been a little drama, some people will quit wow to rather spend time with their families. Sure they could find time to play if they really wanted too but they obviously decided family wins over pixels
Some parents prioritize their kids over their own hobbies.
Who hasn’t been in a group where someone afk’s for a couple mins comes back and be like
“baby just woke, put back to sleep”
“kids arm broken, gave them a cup of hot water, lets roll!” (ok maybe not that one)
I have met many people over my life that should honestly never been allowed to have kids, either parents that are not mature enough or they don;'t really have any interest in them.
I worry sometimes people will be angry at their kids for interrupting their parents wow time and will get their bad temper if they log off.

Yeah right now on ilvl 600+ they are easy. Problem is there is no need to do them at this ilvl.
I’ve said it numerous times before but I cannot recommend strongly enough joining a Discord community like No Pressure for finding friendly and relaxed PUGs for M+ that do not insist on the highest possible ilvl or meta specs/comps.

it has always been this way, back in vanilla long before gearscore and ilvls too get a spot in raids or end-game dungeons you needed specific weapon/shield or x amount of T1 items too get a spot or even be considered… back when you needed a working brain to play the end-game.
There are however guilds and people out there that just wants to play the game, have fun and talk in voice chat… there is just the matter of finding them and that’s on you.
Ilvl600+? I’m not even 600+ yet on my main, when I did them everyone was in the 580s or lower and we cleared them with absolutely no issue at all. As long as you’re about ilvl570+ they should be pretty easy, definitely aren’t overtuned by any stretch.
The people who are asking for 590 or 600 ilvl are the people who are missing just 1 item to complete their gear before they are done with M0 and are just looking for similar people for quick runs.
