I don’t know why. But right after the first minute, minute and a half, it sounds more differently and not for the better, it’s like a hyper-drill drilling right into my ears, it’s like the flip of a switch. I jumped off the Cathedral roof because of it. I think this extension of the SW soundtrack was added in MoP in the Thunder King patch, and even now I still don’t like it. I hate it. It’s like a voice telling me “get drunk, lie down on the street and log out”. This doesn’t sound too serious but I am being serious. It drives me mad. N’Zoth doesn’t take away my sanity as badly as this part of the music. (It’s about the 39:30 minute mark in this video ~https://youtu.be/roMWEeV2P4U~ (the ~'s dont count) ). 
Head to Lions Rest, it plays Anduins theme which is awesome.
Really? You hate it? What a surprise, I actually love the Stormwind theme released in 5.1. Reminds me of Mists of Pandaria and King Varian

Really??? I love the music there. Sorry maybe Ironforge, Darnassus or Exodar maybe better for you then. I still think SW is by far the best city in the whole game, although it does need an update to bring it in line with Suramar and Boralus. Especially considering it is the city of cities, the last true bastian of men.
First of all: A blue-painted rooftop city isn’t by any means the best in the game. There are FAR better cities, the best being Suramar, and the second and third being Boralus and Zandalar. Also, Gilneas is a fantastic city. Stormwind is too mainstream, too dull. Everyone is there just because of the economy. The last true bastion of men is Kul Tiras, there we saw humanity better than in Stormwind. And that “OOOOOOOAAAUUUUH” music is still not lovable. It is hideous!
In that case then don’t go there. Nobody is forcing you too. If you don’t like SW go to another city, it really isn’t hard to do that. SW is still the heart and capital of the Alliance but if you prefer somewhere else head on over nobody is stopping you. I still think SW is the best city in the game it just needs updating to match more of what it is supposed to be in lore. Probably the biggest most populated city in Azeroth.

There’s 2 tracks I dislike in Stormwind, both added in BfA I think (possibly Legion, not played my alliance characters much since then) and it just has me Ctrl-Ming it away every time. Always seems to start playing in the AH and portal tower.
