Finding a pserver without p2w is easy, there are already a few of them.
The issue of pservers is that they aren’t permanent and its only a lawsuit away from Blizzard to shut them down if the player count is remarkable.
I don’t like losing my investment since I want to be attached to a game.
Well, my personal experience with amazon was generally good so far and during the development of the game they were saying that there will be no p2w features in the game etc.
This news came out today but if they confirm it to be in the game, that game will have the most dead release of any MMORPG ever lol. Paid boosts in an unreleased game? Even Dottie wouldn’t play or defend such a game!
Osrs has bonds aka equivalent to wow token you would need to play a game that was made before mtx existed good luck with finding an mmo now they all have it now
It is P2W, and so are the boosts. However, this game has had P2W elements in it ever since the first gold was sold for real money. Blizzard has no incentive to ban gold buyers so for those that want to P2W this has always been available.
Is it worse because Blizz is coming so up front about it? No, it’s better than hypocrisy. The Chinese market is already all over this thing, where P2W is not considered something wrong at all. Think about it this way, if until now you didn’t see who was the eBay guy until he asspulled the boss, now he has a shiny unique mount to mark himself as softcore.
Blizz will at least never reach the depth of P2W depravity that are most private servers. If “donor noob” rings a bell, you know what I’m talking about. Back in BC some of the biggest private servers were selling full gladiator PvP sets and/or T6, possibilities to have all the talents, custom overpowered gems, even Scarab Lord had a price.
Haha, this made my day. I played one for 10 years and the other for 2 years, never seen anything like a cash shop. Actually, back then even games were sold in cdroms as hard copies so I don’t think online monetary transactions were even possible in gaming.
EA bought ultima online around 2012 or something so I guess they added a cash shop in 2016(19 years after its release) but the game is an ancient game with very few players at this point so I never cared to learn what those players think of those. Probably not very happy if I might take a guess.
Sorry i started uo when it came out and still play there. It have been EA game alltime we can go talking eq too but lets stay on uo for while i love that game. When and where in uo you played? what era?
I started in Atlantic server, November of 1997. Played in a big PK guild pretty nolife until 2005 WoW release. Played another 2 years after wow came out but more casually and quit completely in 2007 after TBC came out.
So I saw all eras up to mondain’s legacy. Everything before age of shadows was the best period, I didn’t like trammel too.
Here is one great piece of nostalgia: https://www.imanewbie.com/main/mainframes.html
Yep trammel really ruined pvp came with third Dawn how you liked second age? And If you play in AoS and played mondain you cannot miss ingame shop and all those items from that shop at Luna and other player vendors
Swordsmanship/poisoning with cleaver or pure mage with inscription and meditation. Later on necro mages. I played a 2h hammer paladin for the lolz as well sometimes.
Most common were SW warriors with halberds and setting up firewalls on portals though.
Why all these questions though?
And how do you even compare player vendors with an ingame cash shop that sells you level boosts and gold with real money? If you try to find a comparison with wow, it would be the auction house, and I have nothing against that.
You are the first person I ever saw that played UO and defend a cash shop in classic wow. A real artifact!
You never played real uo back in 1997. You have played uo on free shards. Noone played swords/poisoning Back then because poisoning didn’t work back then. Try again kid you are way too young for that era of uo
And you are again wrong on this too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultima_Online
Origin Systems was the first developer AND publisher or UO, as they were also of the earlier “Ultima” franchise, until they shut down in 2004. EA then bought mythic entertainment in 2006, but mythic still kept developing the game. Then they sold it once again in 2014 to broadsword, which is the acquisition that I tried to address.
Poisoning was fixed in third dawn iirc. And it has been a good 15 years since I didn’t even look at that game so I won’t bother to remember and write you a 500 page book explaining what happened in every patch.
You are a lowlife hiding behind a low level character and trying to tell me what I did and what I didn’t with my own life, why do I even need to prove myself to you even? Who the f are you exactly, kekhands.
Origin was all time under EA sorry keep searching history from net and paste that text but you never played uo in that era. Mythic not develop anything for uo its been under broadsword years. You looking old wiki, there is also newer ones. You are just flaming and naming everyone who have differend opinion than you about things, calling yourself mature adult in your posts while same time crying all over how computer game is not like you want while threatening people with spit emotes and acting like 4year old who kicking and screaming at shop floor because mom didn’t buy you candy. Sorry but your parents lie your not that special and yes you dont need prove to me or anyone else anything yet you still do. Your so easy lead🙂
Even if it was a flying mount, it still wouldn’t “win” anything.
The storemount doesn’t give Riding Skill
Mounts are cheap in TBC. The epic flying mount is 200g. That’s 2 hours of casual play. The riding skill to use it, however, is 5000g. That’s where the gold sink is. And that doesn’t change with a store mount.
