After the fantastic news we got yesterdays from the company. The Patch 9.1.5, TBC phase two and fresh vanilla servers, people are still crying. What in the world is happening? They listen, addapt and people still cry. I honestly dont understand this childish, toxic mentality on the forum and i can understand why they dont communicate to evrything. Cheer up!
Quite a lot of changes was known that they had a plan if they found it did not work Before Shadowlands even launched it is literally where we have the pull the ripcord coming from.
Claiming this is something new is just flat out wrong, now it might have been the thing that made them make the choice but no one but them knows that for sure.
Not a win, not a loss, should have been in from day one, but the WoW community needs something to moan about so Blizz were damned if they do, damned if they don’t.
the changes are good, but there’s no reason they took so long, well there’s multiple reasons, but not valid ones.
hopefully blizz will change their strategy in the future learning from this whole situation, and listen to feedback in time.
because they act like it’s ok to FIX their game 1year later when people told them what to do in alpha/beta stages
no wonder that people are still mad and people will be mad until this expac end
they will have new chance to win people back with new expansion this one is already doomed unfortunately
whatever they do they can’t calm the crowd
cause the crowd was ignored for too long
Should we praise Blizzard for fixing problems they implemented themselves. Correcting mistakes is not the same as making good changes. Blizzard spilled milk on the floor and 1 year later they are cleaning it up. Should we praise them for that?
No we should however acknowledge them for being willing to change their minds not because they are correcting a mistake but that they are willing to change their minds about things.
Some of the changes are literally the higherups at blizzard overriding what the most of the dev team wanted.
What you are doing though is actually actively making blizzard NOT want to change their minds even when they have made bad choices.
You Pugnale is part of the reason WHY blizzard does not feel they should listen you are part of the problem.
I would’ve given them a little more credit if we didn’t go through this exact same cycle in both Legion and BfA, I have a very hard time believing this was some divine intervention from the higher ups and not just how it was always supposed to be.
Either intentional design or unbelievable levels of hubris, neither make them look good.
I’m not crying but am careful with lauding Blizzard too much too early. A few symbolic acts won’t fix the hot mess this game has become over the years. The first steps to taking action look good, but they need to keep up with improvements. Don’t give them the feeling they can now rest patting themselves on the shoulder saying:
Sometimes i really can understand why ion hates this playerbase so much. Most of the players are so mindless that they stand ready to spit on blizzard for their every single step.
to be completely honest not all of it is childish or toxic, yes it is nice that we are finally getting some changes that we want, but at the same time its still worth pointing out that there is a major problem with them delaying it too long, there is a large section of the playerbase that new from the second they announced SL in november 2019 that the covenant system would be a major problem and yet it has taken 22 months now for blizzard to sack up accept that they made a mistake and finally make the neccesary changes.
they even admitted in their blue post that there was no positive spin on conduit energy and it just made the game unfun, and yet it took them well over a year to notice this even though everyone has been trying to tell them since the second it was added to the alpha.
so people are well within their right to still be upset with it, specially considering its the exact same thing that happened in the previous expansion, they added azerite gear and everyone knew right away what a big problem it would be, but they just plowed on with it as it was and then changed it 2 patches later
i think that the praise should be more focused on the fact that they were willing to admit that they made the mistake in the first place, because thats something that game devs are generally not very good at doing because of PR bullsh*t
