Rude people will always be rude unfortunately.
My parents were always pretty harsh on me when I was a kid because, they knew once I was grown up: it was already too late.
If people weren’t taught manners when they were growing up, they sure as hell, won’t learn it in a MMO.
I’ve seen it countless times, by people, I knew in RL, playing this game.
Nothing can be done in this area.
The developers aren’t helping either.
More and more they reward competition over cooperation.
Meaning, you have more players wanting the best rewards in game over players that want to enjoy a community where everyone enjoys a common passion.
FOMO rewards, Mithic timers, Raid achievements, curve, the list is very long.
The only thing they seem to care about is: how much time you are spending in game and how much money you are spending.
That’s one of many reasons I quit playing the latest content.
Draenor is plagued with Boosting advertising.
When I feel like playing with other people, I just queue for a LFD and the players there are more forgiving.
As for streamers, I watch some Asmongold clips. They are funny, I agree/disagree with some of his points.
But let’s be honest: the majority of players in WoW don’t watch streams or read the forums, because they hardly have time to play the game.
When they don’t like it, they unsubscribe.
That’s what I did back in 2007, that’s what my RL friend did after WoTLK expansion.
The bad taste I got from BFA: that was entirely on Activision-Blizzard writers fault.
We had 2 years of players constantly bashing each other, because of the narrative, that put Alliance vs Horde.
They wanted: “A divisive narrative” as Steve Danuser stated.
Cheers.
