The Tragedy of Single Faction Realms

The tittle says it all pretty much. We have experienced 2 Classic releases and now entering the third, arguably the most important one. What is the status of the servers where all the people who want to experience the nostalgia and love they felt for the game all these years? Completely ruined by the corporate greed that cares more about transfers then the player experience.
How can nothing be done, while the largest PVP servers are SINGLE FACTION. 20k players, waiting in que as well, for what? To roleplay? The servers are meant to be a pvp realm, where you can meet, interact and sometimes fight the other faction. Some of my best memories in wow are helping or fighting the Horde, depending on my mood.
Wotlk is the arguably the most important expansion of the classic era. I am very afraid that if nothing changes it will lose all the people that private servers have no problem holding on to.
The technology to merge all the servers together is out there. Either that or another drastic measure MUST be taken to breathe life into these forsaken realms.

*Moved to the Wotlk thread as suggested

Because people are dumb. When Classic just came out, Horde was in a favor on PvP servers, they where literally ganking everyone everywhere when honor system appeared, just to get their stupid Blood Lords a bit faster before battlegrounds. It literally destroyed initially well balanced servers completely. You can read about Flamelash for example. So don’t blame Blizzard, people are dumb. If there will be a button ā€œdon’t press or your character will be deletedā€, people would still press and complain after.

people are dumb for using the pvp system as it was intended? Play a PvE server if you don’t want to be ganked. This is what world pvp is about. Blizzard are the problem - playing on a 99% A/H server is BORING.

PvP servers are USELESS as of today because of these garbage faction ā€˜balances’, people don’t do anything but q bg or do pve - at this point it’s basically a PvE realm.

Thats literally worst possible answer
If you go playing on PVP server, prepare to be gank do death irl

So innocent players didn’t contributed to disbalance at all? Right…

Major responsability comes from Blizzard, unlike old Blizzard who did effort to keep servers balanced with allowing only bigger faction to free migrate we got today zero interest from Blizz to save servers.

Even more, they made exploit for free migrate from Firemaw to Gehhenas via dead server Razorgore, many of us reported that bug but Blizzard ignored us for month or more.

At the end they made again same exploit for Earthshaker and most of Ally used it… duration of exploit is one month too so can’t be non-intentional.
They could merge few realm, they can do it still but seems there is no interested from Blizzard side.

Now EU players got only one option if they want to play WotLK on balanced server - to use exp leveling buff and start over on THEKAL fresh realm.

At this moment balance there is around 55:45 so all PvP Horde players are welcome to push a bit.
Don’t lose this opportunity to move or play entire WotLK on old gold infested ā€œPVEā€ realms.

Transfer/char boost will be not allowed for 3 months at least but after huge protests from community Blizzard stated if new server will stay healthy then will be no need for transfer/boost at all.
As we got just one fresh I think we should have enough players so seems Thekal is way to go.

Funny enough, they actually did this with Diablo 2 Resurrected. They had to change the position of the character delete button because people were such idiots they kept pushing and deleting chars instead of quitting the game.

Of course they will. Most players don’t care too much and follow a streamer or just go to the bigger faction. But this is exactly why the owner needs to step up and say ā€œNo, 10k of you have exploited a bug, ruined a strong server and caused ques on a different server, go back to the old server and you are getting a 7 day banā€. But you won’t see that happen, for obvious reasons $$$

If it was a bug, Firemaw Horde refugees would had got the ban allready.

It was not. Blizzard did the only thing they could in the situation, when most popular server was overloaded (something similar happening now on Gehennas), they let part of the population to freely transfer off to a less populated realm. Players chosen to go, nobody was forcing them. Even if 5K from 9K Horde stayed Firemaw would have less problems, but 8K preferred to leave immedeatly and only 1K stayed.

Blizzard ain’t forcing people, the desidions is up to players themselves.
