'Hey Mom,
I tried to do my homework but got stuck’:
So I was watching Churpie’s video the other day and I managed to get a little more knowledge out of it than from the written guides of wowhead or icy veins. But I’m not a 100% sure still. Partly due to his slightly unfortunate wording and partly to the fact that he only uses an opener shadow dance in his single-target rotation presentation.
He says about thistle tea that in AoE ‘You wanna be sending it with you Dance.’ Thats pretty clear, I get it. But then he says about the single target use: ‘You wanna send it with your initial Dance. And then you only wanna use your Thistle Tea when you’re gonna get the full 100 energy restore from it.’
And at that point it got a little confusing:
- Does he mean that in single-target you always pop one for Dance but also use it inbetween Dances when you are low on energy? (Meanwhile in AoE spending full 7 point combo bars every other GCD makes your Dance CD so low that you wont even get to use Tea between Dances.)
- Or does he mean you pop one Tea charge for the initial dance, and from that point on you totally desinc the two? Just use Dance off CD and use Tea when low on energy?
And finally, to also share and not just ask - here are my macros that work for scenario 1:
/cast [nomod,stance:0] Shadow Dance;[nomod,stance:2]Symbols of Death;[mod:shift]Slice and Dice;[mod:ctrl]Smoke Bomb
/cast [nomod]Thistle Tea
and
/cast Shadow Blades
/cast Symbols of Death
/cast [mod:shift]Shuriken Tornado
I bind the first one to mouse wheel-up and the Blades macro to mouse wheel-down. Try them if you like them. But only when its confirmed that scenario 1 is the correct use of Tea. Because this Dance macro wont let you use Tea and Dance desinced unless one is on CD and the other isnt.
