After years of studying the lore and mythology of Azeroth, I have discovered a shocking truth about the mysterious goddess Elune: she is not a goddess at all, but an ancient space alien!
Think about it: Elune is always depicted as a beautiful and ethereal being who exists beyond mortal comprehension. But what if this is simply a facade? What if she is actually an extraterrestrial entity who has been manipulating the denizens of Azeroth for centuries?
There are many clues to support this theory. For example, Elune’s powers are often described as otherworldly and beyond the scope of mortal magic. Additionally, her followers believe that she created the Night Elves, which could be interpreted as her seeding life on Azeroth.
Furthermore, there are reports of strange lights and unidentified flying objects in the night sky that coincide with Elune’s appearances. Could these be the spacecraft that she travels in?
I know this theory may sound far-fetched, but I urge you to consider the evidence. It’s time for us to rethink everything we thought we knew about Elune and her place in Azeroth.
Since we know the Eternal ones were just created by the first ones. And since we know that Elune was the Winter Queens “sister”.
I think people take the word “sister” too literal. All the eternal ones referred to each other as brothers and sisters.
It just means that Elune was another Eternal one, created by the first ones, but probably of a different plane.
However there seems to be a connection between Ardenweald and wherever Elune is. So that might be why they really emphasised the “sister” thing.
So I guess from that. Since we know the Eternal ones of Shadowlands were created from these “Vessels” as we see that in Sepulcher of the First Ones. So following that theory, Elune is just a Space Robot…
But…
Pelagos was a normal being who transitioned into become the Arbiter, which itself is an Eternal one. So maybe Elune was once a normal being that went through the same Transition.
She either is a space Robot or somehow became something even greater.
She seems to have a much greater reach than that of the Eternal ones. But at the same time her power seems more… diluted/exausted?
Personally I liked that cataclysm questline where a Satyr who was repenting for the past, ripped out his heart to use it as a reagent to save a night elf girl and because of his self-sacrifice an a beam of light turned him back into a Night elf and resurrected him
Well I suppose that supports the idea of transitioning from a lower to a higher being. Maybe she transition from being an Eternal to something greater.
Has anyone seen Elune and Kadgar together in one room? No! That’s because Elune is actually Kadgar in a wig and a glittering dress (he was probably auditioning for RuPaul’s Drag Race new season).
If there is really a connection then it makes Elune look much more stupid than she really is, because the clown goddess tried to funnel night elf souls into Ardenweald had no idea about what was going on in the realm.
As per usual Elune is also disappointment and this disappointment will probably be doubled when she gets shown to players ingame. What made her interesting was her obscurity and mystery, Shadowlands told us that she is just a stupid being with above average powers.
Honestly, I hope they never ever even think about revealing elune. She is only powerful as an abstract concept/goddess. As soon as she becomes a humanoid character, I’m not gonna care anymore about wow’s lore, because it will be ruined imo. If all the mystery is taken out, there is nothing. Imagine they show elune, and it’s… You know…
For example, the naaru were implemented kinda fine, because they seem very abstract and mysterious. They are some floating things representing the light, but they are not an impersonnification of the light itself I think. They just seem like some sort of heralds/wardens of the light or something similar. We don’t really understand the naaru afaik, and it’s a good thing. This is still okay. This is more along the oracle vibe from northern/greek mythology. This is totally fine. I just don’t wanna see elune in her true form doing actions. I want elune to remain a mysterious force, that we can never grasp as players in the story. If they create some character like a modern human to represent elune, it’s so over…
Idk man her saying she made a big oopsy by sending the night elf souls to the winter queen and sending them to the maw instead makes her seem much less capable and mystic than before. So theres already damage done to her all powerful image
