Cause technically that is not alleria. That’s just a random NPC’s blizzard used so that Blood elf levelers in the area don’t get confused by seeing 12 Alleria’s in the zone.
It’s not her

Prefer the void elf armor, looks alot better to me.
Ok wear it then, why aren’t you wearing it?
I do on my shadow priest
The mount says Arcranist Manasaber, and you are telling me that mount matches with your voidy set?
Common.
I never said it did, i was reffereing to the heritage armor
Oh so you were saying that your set is more beautiful than the Nightborne
Implying to this?
Well, I meant the face of the Nightborne, not the armour.
Yes IMO the void elf one is better
Maybe, but for me nothing is better than the Aracane themed Nightborne set
Oki then lol
I dont know how to place links in posts soo
Just google Alleria windrunner
Go to wow pedia or something
and there it is
Yes.
At that point in time Alleria did not call herself Ren’Dorei as the term didn’t exist as she was alone. She uses the term for the first time when Umbric and his kin swear allegiance with her.
So yes, she is a Void Elf. I might as well argue this character here is neutral because if you spotted me on the wandering isle I was helping horde NPCs. It’s what happened later that matters when it comes to saying “he is an alliance Pandaren”.
Exactly. Being the only Ren’dorei you wouldn’t call yourself that. The name wasn’t designed yet. When many of her kin started using the void she decided to use that name along with her people.
And again, this is proof:
“After absorbing the power of the dark naaru [L’ura] in the ruins of [Mac’Aree] on [Argus], Alleria became the first [void elf], and now leads others like her in the Alliance following the defeat of the Legion.”
The complexity is elf naming is largely political, not racial.
Racially they are all Thalassians. Technically, this means “high elf”. For a long time they all call themself this.
Some then call themselves blood elves. So they are blood elf-thalassians. Those that don’t, call themselves high elves still (technically thalassian high elves), but they’re no more thalassian than the others.
It’s like some voted conservative and some voted labour.
And then those high and blood elves elves, some now call themselves void elves. So they are technically thalassian-void elves. These elves defected to the green party say
They’re every bit as high elf as the others, but not in the sense they call themselves high elves as high elf is no longer used to refer to the species, but the particular group of them who have a specific identity.
It is very much like politics. We don’t call them all “politicians” even though technically it’s accurate. We call them “Liberal” “Conservative” etc. Because it’s more meaningful.
It just so happens in this case the word that was once used to refer to the species now has a more specific meaning instead. Like how the word “man” technically does refer to every human, but we now use the word to mean something more specific “male"

Bizarre aside, in original English it actually does mean every human, ‘Man’ was not gender specific, nor did it mean ‘Man’ as a species because ‘Males were more important’ The synonyms today for ‘Man’ would be ‘Person’ ‘human Being’ (It still works that way in German, where ‘Man’ means ‘one’ as in ‘One can do that if they like’)
The original words in English for ‘man’ and ‘woman’ were ‘Wer’ and Wyf’, which are the roots of ‘Werewolf’ and ‘Wife’ respectively.
I love how language does weird things.
