i’d like to address a problem that has clearly risen up over the last 3 Weeks, though mainly the last 2 after it became more common knowledge, namely the Unbound Spoils.
The current iteration of the Unbound Spoils was seemingly implemented to make them accessible for the more “casual” Players who stumble upon them and luck out with a socket, i can’t imagine it was ever estimated how much (excuse the wording) degeneracy would be breed from a weekly socket.
Right now its almost impossible as a casual Player to get even close to looting one of the Unbound Spoils, with 2 Raid Groups fighting over the chest, you getting interrupted by random aoe, the Respawn for everyone being on a 29 second timer and the chest lasting roughly 5-7minutes its just no way to win any fight.
In my mind there’s atleast two solutions for the whole approach to the topic.
Remove the Unbound Spoils and instead give the regular War caches a low Weekly drop chance to include the socket, that would make it accessible for everyone, you can still team up hunting for them, it still makes people go out into the world and fight and its even odds for everyone.
Move the Unbound Spoils a bit out of the PvP area’s so you cant respawn instantly, that paired with a longer Uptime of the chest could mean if you manage to push People out of the fight, there wont be 24/7 anti tap, a big enough group could win a fight and atleast 5 people would be able to loot it.
Possibly there’s more options to that.
Besides all of the above, if you’re sticking with the current System, please give us a bluepost explanation on the chests, is it really a 6 hour timer? Is Hallowfall really bugged? Are the Chests that currently seem to spawn inbetween the 6 hour timer (that only clearly happened for the last 3-4 Days) really random?
Please don’t uphold the current version of praying for a random spawn on a layer that doesnt have 50 People there to fight over it.

I would like to give my feedback too, other solution came to my mind:
Get rid of the 6 hours spawn time, and make it spawn in all 4 pvp areas at once at random times 4 times a day (frequency is same rn 6 hours a day is 4 spawn).
But the easiest solution would be just implementing Eden’s 1. point, make the regular War cache relevant by adding the socket to it with a low drop chance like 2%.
The chest should be phased out if you are in a raid/group (and for 2 minutes after leaving). If you are in a group/raid while the chest opened you should not be able to loot it.
Please move this in the normal chest with low drop, is the most frustrating event in all my years of wow
I just takes 1 player to aoe and unleash hell, also some player after they click the chest just start the fight

why would anyone bother with world “pvp” is really beyond me… you either group and join a edited by moderator fest of “pvp” with 0 fun or get dunked on if you try to go solo…
for the weekly quest looting treasures is way faster IMO
I don’t get why people bother with that chest lol, I’m almost fully socketed out just from playing the game. Got one lucky socket in the early start but that’s it, not worth gunning for it at all.
One socket you can get pretty fast and if its that important you can offset it with gold.
Honestly vuying flask and spamming bgs or arena is much better but maybe there arw some who enjoy that mode.
I used to play wpvp a lot especially in bfa but with esch xpac it gets more degenerate
“Privileged 1%” lol just say you don’t play the game bro, I don’t even play a whole lot, I’ve bought like 3 Bloodstone but the rest is literally honor farm in Epic BGs with flask and daily wins, as well as weeklys.
You also make it out like you can’t farm the sockets while you gear up?? If you had full honor gear week 1 like most of us, it’s literally all you spend honor on. I’m only missing the last socket.
But go on crying about how you’re not able to free farm sockets lol, I don’t even play much so it’s definitely a you problem.
Do you consider the “Unbound Spoils” event a good experience for players? Is it truly enjoyable? From what I’ve seen, it doesn’t seem like you’re even trying to participate.
After checking the forums, I noticed that many players find the event frustrating and don’t bother joining. The most frustrating part for me is that the event’s location is random. If they could just provide a fixed location, we’d be able to prepare and reduce the unpredictability.
I have a job and family, so my time is limited. I still want to be competitive and enjoy the game, but the randomness makes it hard to do so.
I’m not here to argue; I just hope Blizzard considers making some changes. They could cycle through set locations or activate all 4, and players would still show up to fight. Or they could spawn the event in the same area as the daily PvP quest, making it more predictable.
You can’t complete this event with a random team. I’ve tried multiple times, and other players looted the chest before I could even get there. If they protected the chest, it would just turn into a zerg fight, which also will cause none to get the socket.
Again, the chest was never meant to be a sure-fire way to farm sockets. It was always meant to be a bonus thing that could maybe be achieved, but mostly sockets are gained from the honor farm.
The chest used to be every 6 hrs, but was just as unachievable. My only one was gained because I flew around 6:00 AM and was the only person there. The chest does what it was designed for anyway, which was engage world PvP.
Sockets aren’t even important, the only one that matters is the one for precog/dmg redux/buff, the rest are entirely optional. Again, it’s like 12500 honor for one socket, easily gained.
If you can’t get 1800 without sockets, that’s a skill issue.
