After struggling with an issue that’s preventing me from playing the game for some time, after waiting 10 hours and then 10 hours again for two copypasted responses that in no way was relevant to my issue, I started remembering.
I remember a time where issues would be resolved within minutes using the live chat feature or the phone call option. I can’t even remember the last time I saw these not being “currently unavailable” are they just an urban legend at this point?
People keep saying “It’s only up during xyz hours and for certain issues etc”. But my question is, has anyone here actually been able to receive live support from Blizzard in the last three years and if so, how did you manage to do it?
And on every post like this I always see a number of people rushing to the defense of the multi billion dollar company saying dumb things like “it’s a video game, you can wait a bit” etc, like what? This is probably one of the most heavily monetized AAA games from a western developer on the market right now, I don’t see any reason why they should not offer a live chat support option.
I had a problem a while back and the ticket I opened was answered within minutes with a really cool game master and she even sent me some cute emojies.
Maybe some issues have live gms and some are automated. But for me I’ve never had problems with tickets.
I liked the times when a little Gnome (or something) GM would pop up in-game, help you out, then proceed to spawn some sillyness and fool around a bit before wishing you good luck and go poof again.
The most infuriating reply you can get is when they tell you to go to Wowhead. I had a bug at the start of the Shadowlands expansion where my characters couldn’t get there due to a bug.
I made it very clear that it was 100% a bug with the game and it was impossible to progress. I got hit with go to Wowhead. I wouldn’t have felt annoyance like I did if they said they can’t work around the bug and the devs are currently working on it. However don’t direct a customer who has a serious bug with the game to go to 3rd party websites.
One of my biggest hates from Blizzard is the communication and promotion of 3rd party websites. Stick to your own services please.
And that hollow ghostly ping sound you would hear as a blue box would appear on your screen when they established a live chat support session ingame, those were the days.
