I disagree, you still have choice but you could choose what perks you wanted most. Everything n the game will aways have a bis scenario.
When Mining had a Stamina buff, it became de facto mandatory for top end Raiding Tanks⌠that isnât a personal choice.
I mean gem sockets being a random bonus nowadays. Effectively reducing JC in its being. The only profession that was mainly unaffected by all those profession changes is Alchemy.
Items having several gem slots with specific colour slots in it that if socked correctly colour wise enabled a minor stat upgrade due to the âsetâ bonus.
Iâd like Diablo more if i had to choose between the two not a fan of FPS games so hell no xD.
But true crafted gear is useless now you outgear it at max level just do some m+0 and get some covenant gear upgrade it to max and there you go lol.
At this point professions are useless i get more gold nowadays with callings and vendoring trash.
Alchemy could be seen to have been nerfed; by reducing Flasks to two option, rather than four.
Yes we should always punish the entire playerbase because of things the top 1% do.
Its still an essential profession for PvE stuff however. Everyone needs alchemy one way or another.
That was nice⌠but probably seen as OP to non Raiders.
I think the only way you could earn gold nowadays is crafting legendary items for upgrading.
So; Tanks that refused to be Miners were equally likely to get Raid spots as those that were
That would have been a first, back in the day.
Many players find it just as easy to buy Flasks off the AH, for PuG Raiding; Guilds that have an Alchemist or two usually get by.
Only issue here i see is there if demand for them gets lower the flask prices are going to get dirt cheap then alchemy would be rendered completely useless.
If the Alchemist BUYS HerbsâŚ? Yes; if theyâre a Herbalist or have gatherers on the same account & Realm (group), less so.
Not more complicated than people nowadays being âforcedâ to sim their characters constantly depending on scenario (patchwerk, cleave add, hectic add cleave, dungeon slice)
My point was that nobody more or less gets around to rely on the alchemist profession. Doesnt mean you need to have it on your toon. But you need access to its stuff. Be it through the AH, a friend, yourself or otherwise. Which is what i like and what i want to have return to the other professions again.
Hmmm you might be correct i have not considered that scenario.
A decent sized, Normal or Heroic Guild will have (well; should, IMPO) all professions covered & maxâd.
Players like myself that have a penchant for âMaster of Allâ achievements are likely to be the exception, with most players being in the middle ground, somewhere.
Our guild never required mining for tanks. Lots of guilds never bothered.
Ohh⌠well; ISTR it being cited as a reason for Mining losing itâs Stamina buff at Blizzcon or in a Live Q&AâŚ
I know this much; aside from realising that my Night Elf Warrior* being a Skinner & Leatherworker was a waste for a single character, during his earliest playing days, my characters have never changed Professions; some have still not got anything other than Cooking & a few canât even Fish.
*THIS character, in point of fact
That still wasnt the point. How many players can ignore Alchemy? Not many. None if they dont want to play subpar. How many can ignore JC? A lot, dependent on the luck on drops and even with the venari socket thats nothing. Theres a reason why gems arent worth anything.
How many people can ignore Engineering? A lot. How many can ignore Leatherworking? More than just a lot. Inscription? Dead after purchasing the stats for the legendary once and potentially Vantus that are dead cheap and last an entire week. Enchanting still has some use at least however even that has plummeled. Blacksmith? Everyone can safely ignore it. Same goes for Tailors.
This is also effectively reducing the attractivity for Mining compared to Herbalism. Or skinning to Herbalism. That you need BS/LW/Tailor for Legendaries isnt helping this much especially with them being a one time purchase and not attractive to raise for many to begin with, especially now where youre better off selling the mats than raising the item.
Yes, there are legions of players that find the AH a more efficient source of what crafting can make available, largely down to Gold being more accessible.
Players with Master of All are a small exception⌠iâm not saying they arenât, but an individual playersâ stable of characters may possibly have NO Professions at all - it happens.
Thats still not my pointâŚ
Im talking about how STRONG Alchemy is with what it provides compared to everything else the other professions provide aside from Enchanting mainly. They all pale in comparison. This is not a question about whether its accessible or not.
