The very first choice (?) from Alyx in the Guest Relations questline is intentionally confusing

Ok, so once doing the first couple of quests for this secret finder questline, Alyx tells me she has some “extremely cryptic” puzzles and warns us whether we REALLY want them. Even the game interface gives a warning that “it can’t be undone”. But why?

All of the guides simply state that it unlocks a few more quests, but no mention of any permanent negative consequence. Like, is there anything we do lose out on? Why does the game act as if it unlocks some kind of hard mode, not in addition, but replacing normal mode quests?

It put me off using the mode as it makes it appear as if you’re going to be missing out on other things. But to do the clues from the notice board you have to enable that mode.
