Wish that clipping wouldn’t happen so players like me wouldn’t immediately throw up because of quality loss.

Literally unplayable!
Tbh, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a game with robes or other flowy thing that reaches past knees that doesn’t clip. Physics, no physics, doesn’t matter.
Well, I for myself have. Destiny 1 and 2 are good examples. Some of the Assassins Creed games… It is not really that hard to fix. Robes just need a different weight painting or however it is called in 3D Design. So that the robes “bend” the right way when walking/running.
I’m like 90% certain I’ve seen butt capes clipping in D2, you just don’t see it most of the time because you’re in first person. It’s been a while since I played AC games but I doubt they are clipping free either.
I’m frankly more surprised it doesn’t offend your aesthetic sensibilities that robes in WoW are leg tubes rather than actual robes, because it certainly offends mine.
That’s due to armor models having differen shapes and sizes. Difference is that armor in Destiny 1 and 2 are designed with actually a lot of geometry, compared to WoW where performance is much more important.
For example at the image I posted, if Blizzard would remove the “black undercover” texture that is on the downsite of the robe, a lot of clipping would already go away. I mean, how often are you able to look under the skirt of your long robe mage or paladin?
I love conversations like this:
“It doesn’t happen, but this is the reason why it happens.”
It doesn’t happen when you use a matching armor set. If you mix them up, then that is at your own risk that stuff will clip through other armor in Destiny 2.
But that is not the point. The point of my post is Warcraft armor robes having legs and textures clipping through each other. That’s a different story.
Two words for you to put in a search engine that will blow your mind:
Cloth Physics
That is something bad i agree. But worst thing about robes is 2D lower part i guess. Upper part has some details but lower part is just a cone with 2D stickers on it
uhhh, yeah, cloth physics regularly break and cause clipping, lol
