Apparently an unfixable problem since 8.1.5, many/few players seem to have problems with the Blacksmith Tools of the Trade questline.
wowhead: Therazane’s Choice (wowhead / quest=50288/therazanes-choice)
No matter what I do, reinstall the game, deleting/moving AddOns, Cache, and WTF-folder; I can only choose the Anvil.
Blizzard support makes the frustration exponentially worse. I understand that because of Corona waiting times are longer, but they won’t get shorter by copy/paste replies without reading what the player said first.
My FIRST message
Quest Name: Therazane’s Choice
Issue: I can select Anvil but not Ormhun.
I tried reload, restarting, with addons, without, delete WTF folder.
Abandon quest, retaking.
I can always only select Anvil. Ormhun is a normal Blacksmith Trainer…
Also on map shows yellow “dot-globe” saying “Khaz’gorian Anvil” - no yellow “dot-globe” Ormhun.
I also tried zone change: everytime I arrive Ormhun says: "Lycao, you’re here…
It’s like Ormhun is still stuck and phased on the previous quest.

If you are stuck with one or more quests, please reset them by simply abandoning and retaking them.

Besides depending way too much on wowhead, the reply implies for me that they did not read my messages.
Also refering to wowhead where most players complain about the exact same issue, is helping my frustration how? That I’m not alone?

What you are describing is an interface issue caused by UI Modifications. Disabling the addons and retaking the quest will most likey help you. Some players also reported that a relog could help.

So far, we got feedback from everyone that had this problem, that they were able to resolve it by resetting their UI, restarting the quest and logging in and out. You are the first person to report it not working after resetting your interface. To reset your interface it is not enough to only disable the addons temporarily and delete the WTF folder. You would have to move the interface-folder to a different location as well (you can just move it back after completing the quest and all your addons are active again instantly) and also delete the cache-folder.
This is a really strange occurence and we do not have other work arounds for this quest, since resetting the interface worked for everyone else.
As if wowhead comments didn’t make that clear, not everyone was able to solve the problem and were only able to choose the Anvil.
Singling out my situation did help my frustration.
If the problem is mine and unique, how do you explain two things:
(1) On the minimap it shows a yellow “dot-globe” saying “Khaz’gorian Anvil” - but no yellow “dot-globe” for Ormhun? Screenshot (ibb . co / 6bpx0tz)
How do you explain that? AddOns do not have that kind of power to hide those yellow “dots”. Especially DEACTIVATED Addons and DELETED Cache and WTF-folders.

How do you explain that? Can AddOns influence what kind of text an NPC says? Do AddOns have that kind of power?
I know the choice makes no difference. I just wish there was one if that’s how it is advertised. I’m convinced this is a phasing issue.
