There is a season cap for valor?

I’m a returning player, grinding my way top since a week with m+. Thanks to valor I was upgrading my bis slots randomly. Last night before I went to bed, I wanted to do one last m+. When we finished the dungeon, I only got x65 bonus valor and I was confused. I was like probably glitched, went to check my valor it was 75. I was like what’s going on, I’ve mouse over on my valor and shocked with season maximum cap 7.5k. i thought that 7.5k cap was how much you can hold on you.

Now I’m desperate, I never knew there was a season cap so I randomly upgraded my gears. Does that mean I can’t get any valor till season 4 my plan was to grind and upgrade my bis gears, luckily I have most of them but as 1/12 or 5/12 etc so.

I’m so sad right now.

The cap used to go up every week, with reset the valor cap is removed.
