We keep whining about que wait times, but for me its becoming blatant that PVP community have been too watered down between all these modes. Lots of peopole have escaped sweaty arenas for blitz and it shows, even though rating distribution is messed up and there is a lot of people on rating 1400-1800, wait times are becoming 20-30 minutes, for lots of people and me included, its too long to keep me playing.
PVP was always minority of the total playerbase, but now when we have all these modes + classic realms that have its own PVP enjoyers as well, its start to looks critical.
What do you guys think? What can be the solution? Because at this point removing any of this modes will make people unhappy…
Shuffle que will remain long cause they had whole df time improve it for healers, make it more desirable for them to try rank or remove the mode and they didnt so it remain not favored by heals. It doesnt help they made match making for blitz more strict either and we went from 1-4min dps ques to 20min now but no real effect in the game itself tho other than just longer ques and less same specs.
You have long queues because there is a disproportion between the number of damage specs and the number of healing specs that queue, not because the community is watered down. If you play healer, you have instant queues.
As for the reasons why this happens - that’s hard to tell. In solo shuffle, it might be because healers are disadvantaged in gaining rating. In general across all modes it might be because healing is less and less fun to play lately.
boosters ruin rated bg by dropping mmr, giving free wins for random teams while dropping and causing unfair and toxic games when numerous teams dodging these boosters to avoid loosing 20 rating due to booster’s team dropped mmr
limitation to meta specs. Only meta classes are being invited into teams which increases the time for forming teams and blocks it for other specs
overall longer time to form teams due to requirement of having a tank and 3 healers which is way too many to form fast
Just implement MMR to unranked battlegrounds games and maybe new rating system for those that love BGing and Arenas remains as the esport/popular choice of PvP, everybody happy.
This is one of the big factors that made me not que Solo Shuffle… “Oh no healers at your level, so we matched you against a healer 300CR below you… Oh hehe is it a R1 player on his alt? upsi You should win the lobby though! look at his CR! oh… you went 2-4? Shame… here is -90CR to you!.. Oh now you are at an MMR lower than your CR? We see… Oh grats! you went 5-1! Here is 3CR for this glorious win!”
No thanks
Add to this dps players literally going out of their way to whisper profanity, calling healers things, flaming… Nah. I don’t play the game to deal with peoples temper tantrums
I’m not sure if 2s are played less than 3s.
In LFG there have always been more 2s groups than 3s groups.
Perhaps because they are less demanding or perhaps because they require less time to look for a partner.
2s are also a great way to farm conquest and a great way to get the season titles/plot without necessarily having to find 2 more players.
I had quite high hopes for BG Blitz when it was initially announced but i quickly lost interest in queing. First i was faced with some weird placement games that made no sense where despite having a 90% winrate over about 15-20 games my MMR dident budge an inch above 1500-1600 ish. Once i hit 30 games in total n 70% winrate my mmr randomly jumped to 2.3k. Game quality was just as piss poor as they were at 1500.
Some fundamental issues that made me lose interest in the gamemode was primarly the lack of individual impact on certain maps. All those oversized maps with 376 different objectives are impossible to carry due to the fact that i cant be in more than one place at a time so im at the mercy of headless chickens running circles n at that point its rng if my headless chickens are more efficent than the opponents chickens.
The other is flag maps where certain classes can cross the entire map at mach 10 speed, all movement boosing abilities should be disabled when you´re holding the flag. It makes no sense to auto lose if you happened to have a worse flag carrier than the enemy team. Cap movement at base speed and disable all mobility abilities. FC´s should have to be escorted n protected.
The other glaring problem is duoq. It was done to make healers more interested in queing, so they brought a solo shuffle problem n applied the “solution” to blitz. Healers are comedically overpowered across the board in battlegronds with no dampening n dident need more advantages or bribes to que seeing as they are by far the highest impact role in BG´s by a landslide.
Overall i find normal BG´s somehow have a higher game quality with better players than blitz which is extremely odd. Rating in blitz is seemingly only tied to how many games you spam. Im fully indifferent to if the gamemode stays ranked or not but i dont see myself playing it.
I don’t think this will solve any of the issues.
PvP doesn’t get any new players, while the old ones are leaving. PvP is broken on a fundamental level.
Blitz is supposed to appeal to casuals, but, as a casual player. I don’t find it a good gamemode at all. Casuals have no chance to ever get a good rating without playing thousands of games. The MMR system is designed to play like a slot machine.
To what end? Most RBG players are already queuing Blitz on the side. And most RBG players will not play the other brackets (arena/SS/random BGs) if you ban RBG. In fact, they will be more likely to play m+ or even raid.
How do I know? I have been playing RBG with a stable group (5-6 core players + 4-5 flex players who come and go depending on season/expansion) two evenings a week since Shadowlands S1. In that time I have played with and against most of the semi-serious parts of the RBG community (premade RBG is a VERY social setting; equal to a raiding guild) .
Banning other game modes will not improve blitz or SS queue times and will not rejuvenate the other brackets. Blizzard should double down on the existing rated PvP modes and add unique(!) rewards for every bracket instead. The RBG bracket would be way more popular if Blizzard had not left it to rot (no changes, no balance, no rewards) for over a decade.
“shuffle-esque” content needs to go if anything, sure it promotes more players. But its just full of degeneracy and people climbing to ranks they dont belong to cause you can just keep playing the numbers game since everyone is so keen to be a meta slave in shuffle content and with how some classes just perform so well you will climb by inflation alone.
Main reason for long ques are God tiered healers, we have situation when 3x healers are god class, rest of healers are paesant class… For god tier healers game feel fun, they reicive good chunk of undeserved free wins, for no god tier healer game is suffering and purpose to be cannon meat to god tier healers.
God tier healer cannot drive solo shuffle alone… Paesant tier healer stoped playing
