Getting this pop up while trying to restore, Is there a known reason for this like the server being too busy or is there still issues after the service was restored.
Same here. I did manage to restore two of my deleted characters but with the one character I really wanted to restore got the same message. Tried at least 5 times

But at least in my case, none of the conditions that prevents character restoration was true

Same restored one I wasn’t fussed about with no issues.
Submitted a ticket see if the mods can fix it caus I’m out of ideas.

Sorry to hear that you’re getting an error when restoring this character.
While it doesn’t appear to be a widespread issue, and the character restoration is working correctly for the majority of players, we’re currently investigating this issue, where some specific characters are throwing an error when trying to undelete them.

I’m getting this problem too, however I have a suspicion what it is.
I restored one character without problems, but two others that I wanted to check would not restore, the only difference, the two which didn’t work, I currently have characters with those names, even though they are on different realms (restoring on Silvermoon, existing one on Magtheridon).
I’m going to try deleting my current one and report back (hopefully the restore doesn’t break on that xD)
Edit: Nope, not that. Darn. So yeah I’m having the issue too in that case and I have no clue what it could be lol

Restore Character works again, though there are some kinks with restoring.
Trying to restore a Priest , level 70 on silvermoon eu, but as i do i get a message " there was a problem restoring your deleted character. please try again later " so i waited X hours, still same issue. Meanwhile i could restore an older char removed, any idea as to why @Blizzard?
apart from this lill kink, quite happy to see char restore working again.

I can restore every character as well - but not the one i really want to restore! Super exicted that restore is back, kinda sad that the only character i really missed is unable to get restored! Seems like blizzard is looking into it tho - happy about that! Please let us know, what you are finding out! <3
I am getting this error as well. Its my main character. Hope they get it sorted quickly
Same thing, was waiting to restore one specific character, and ofc its the only one that bugs out like this for me 
Hopefully its an easy fix, abd good the Blizz aknowledges the issue here
unsure if anyone else has this issue or getting the same message as i mentioned before.
but, the one toon i wanna restore, i get the message on. however, ANY OTHER class or char i can restore without issues.
i still cant restore that one i wanna, i hope they figure it out soon. Have faith fellow gamers. I believe they work hard on figuring out what causes this for us.

Our developers continue to investigate this issue. If you’re still unable to restore a character (after reading this message) with the error “There was a problem restoring your deleted character”, could you please provide the following information:
- Name and server of the character that you can’t restore
- Approximate time / date when you tried to restore the character and received this error

Have tried on and off for about 2-3 days now without success. Last time i attempted to restore was at 6:18pm .
Have recieved the same message all the time on this toon, but can restore X others without problems.

Also been trying to restore for the last few hours, last attempt was @ around 14:00 BST
Snazzy - Ravencrest (level 70 holy paladin)
Eddo - Tarren Mill (level 70 shadow priest)
The only pattern I can see thus far is that these are my oldest 2 characters (with the most /played). So I wonder if this is causing some strange interactions with the restoration into the new warband system 
Seems like this rings true for other posters.
That’s funny - the character i have problems with is also by far my oldest character with the most played
