And that’s exactly what some backwards muslims would say if they saw a building that looked kind of a mosque, but wasn’t a real mosque. Because it wouldn’t be real, and the people in it wouldn’t be muslims. Just like the cathedral in stormvind isn’t a real cathedral and the people in it aren’t christians.
Not worth the risk, even Lego got in trouble for a building that maybe looked a bit like a mosque.
There is Vortex pinnacle, Throne of the Four Winds, Silvermoon, Sunwell Plateau, Shivarra demons. All themed around middle east culture. What more do you want?
The MoP treatment. It would certainly be more visually appealing than the whole Diablo cliché edgy afterlife ripoff that we got in Shadowlands, that’s for sure.
You are confusing, said you didnt want that earlier. Asked you why and got no reply, or was it that you stumbled on your words and meant the opposite of what you wrote?
While it could be interesting to have such aesthetics, it doesnt change the fact that muslims are not particularly tolerant to art… they can call almost anything as an insult. Imagine if in such expansion you had a gay couple. Developers would probably fear for their life.
Then stop asking for Islamic aesthetics then? If you bring in the aesthetics then its showing direct appreciation to the religion via these which would be bringing Islam into the game.
I’ve read the thread and you still have given no good reason why Blizzard should throw this into the game.
That was my largest gripe with MoP.
It was so much Asian themes and cultures with barerly any World of Warcraft in it.
Given that WoW steal a lot of influences it still needs to keep it’s wow core or it’s not wow anymore.
To me MoP was: My wow character travels to china.
On the contrary.
The Mogu and the titan influence. The manthid and the old gods. The continent’s history tied to the Sundering. The Throne of Thunder and the troll influence.
Felt very Warcrafty to me.
But the air elementals are largely inspired by the arabic culture. And I’m sure you will get a muslim equivalent to religion when it makes sense in the story they are trying to tell. Forcing diversity will not lead you to anywhere good.
