Isn’t the aesthetics of Dalaran pretty much inspired by architecture in muslim countries?
There is no Christianity in the game. Stormwind Cathedral is dedicated to “The Light”. Just like Light’s Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands.
Anduin asks “The Light” to give him strength in the cinematics.
The fictional world of Azeroth does not need the real world of Earth’s religions.
There has been plenty of battles with Old God’s in Azeroth.
Hei man, dont take it personally.
Wow its just a game, no one had this in mind when they created wow and no one is racist here.
We shouldnt even judge or aprovve people by relegion standards.
This brought stupid , violent wars on the planet.
Muslim, christian, we are all humans.
Only thing thats important is to be a good human beeing in life!
Pls , chill, enjoy wow, enjoy life!
Hug man!
lmao. Give OP a ban, he obviously needs some time off of WoW to start to differentiate between game and reality again… if he ever did.
After the fall of Lordaeron, Stormwind is the home of Church of the LIGHT (since the original Lordaeron civilization was mass murdered slash became edgelords who started up the Church of the Shadow instead.
/spit
As a Muslim, independent woman, I tell you to leave the WoW forums and go back to watching Fox News.
No, I don’t care if I get banned, feel free to report me.
If you want to make hateful statements like this, I can also point at Christian drunk and cheating men who treat their women like crap. Get outta here!
On topic: No, we don’t need mosques in WoW. Religion shouldn’t be a video game topic. It’s something sacred and special that should be kept in your heart.
Hell no. Religion was a mistake in the real world, keep it the hell out of video games.
I learned something today. Thanks for the informative reply.
Take that on-board next time you post one of your homophobic rants pretty rich to call others narrow minded .
9/10 good troll effort - if you’re genuinely wondering why we don’t get mosques, is because maybe there are millions of different things in this game, and not everything has to have a paralell to OUR world in a fantasy world.
You see anyone worshipping the moon irl?
Wicca magic is somewhat popular among some women IRL actually.

Thats right, but it’s not a huge religion that defines an entire society. Not to mention that any Temples of the Moon resemble nothing of the architecture of our world. Or things like Moonwells.
My point is that fantasy is seperate from reality, and if you wish to implement elements from reality into your fantasy universe, that’s fine, I just don’t like it when people want to implement diverse elements from our reality simply because “if X cut it then why couldn’t Y” because at that point it’s just implementing things that have nothing to do with the story you’re trying to tell or the world you’re trying to build.
However of course, there are some good examples of asking for a realistic element in a story that is fundamentally weaker without it. F.e. in the Star Wars universe, the primary melee weapon is a Lightsaber, which is a simple plasma sword without a crossguard. Now, the issue of not having a crossguard is that if two blades lock, all it takes is a simple sliding down on the enemy’s sword to cut off the opponent’s hands - and swords lock quite a bit in duels, and nobody ever exploits it, which is a GIANT plot convenience. The issue is that in Star Wars 7, they only added a crossguard to make it look more cool - the crossguard was also formed by plasma, making it even more dangerous for the user, and not using it on any other sword either.
Tl;dr: let the writers do their own thing unless what you’re suggesting is related to a plot hole.
now on diffrend topic how are you doing punyelf ?
well, obviously everyone knows that…
but that does not have anything to do with the subject. because you wont find jewish cathedral or muslim cathedral or indu cathedral or buddhist cathedral etc…
but you will find christian cathedral.
that architecture of the cathedral in stormwind is obviously based on the european cathedrals. which are also places of worship for christians.
-
The light doesn’t reference God or Jesus
-
The Cathedral draws inspiration from Christianity, which is fine just like Ahn’qiraj, Uldum, and some oldgod themes, elves draw inspiration from Arabic structures.
-
Not choosing to include a mosque in the game can actually be treated as a sign of respect, this is a game and I doubt religious people want religion to be included in a Game
-
Muslims don’t need you ( who I’m 99% sure aren’t a Muslim ) to be outraged for them.
-
Inclusion for the sake of inclusion is whatever phobic people like to call it now adays, if you feel the need to include someone because they’re gay/black/muslim/jew/ whatever then you’re homophobic/racist/islamophibic/jewphobic.
-
Leave politics outside of games, if blizzard wants to draw inspiration ( respectfully ) then it’s fine, but if they draw inspritation for the sake of fulfiling a quota then that’s offensive and disgusting.

Mosques are places of worship, chatting and talking about anything other than worship is is disliked and excessiveness in it is forbidden, you cannot trade or search for missing items in them.
If there were mosques in the game, people would definitely not go there to pray, rather people will be literally playing, talking, heck you might get some ERPers there, which goes directly against what a Mosque should be ( Hint : not a game )
Here’s some clarifications from a quick google search :-

Muslims, Christians and Jews do actually worship the same god.
The differences however lies in the details.
( Muslims think there is one god alone, and you have to directly worship him by following the teachings of the last prophet )
( Christians have many variations, but most of them believe Jesus was God’s son and worship him/both/both + Jibril ( the holy spirit ) )
( Jews also worship the same God too, I don’t have much experience or information so I cannot speak accurately on them, but I do know they worship the same god )
Yes, just look at how healthy the atheist west is, or how good of a society the Soviet Union was!
Religion and spirituality is a human need, and will always be present. Religion in itself is neither good nor bad.
No mosque but there is goblin technology.
Honestly i am an Atheist i do not believe in religion i respect it but i will never like if it is shoved down my throat. As for the cathedral they have been around since along time in games, including strategy games even AoE 2 had them and all that other stuff, it comes down to the game developers to even add such things the reason why asian culuture was added because devs wanted to make it happen it was soley based up on their decision.
Now if they want to add a Mosque they will do it on their own terms in a proper manner. Maybe idk you will get your own themed expansion one day with that sort of culture in there.
Now imagine if a mosque gets added, i’m sure roleplayers will sure taint that place quite fast. >.> So much for your mosque.

You didn’t seem to get the point, as i said the strategy games had it i am aware that aoe2 had mosque in it but when that game was made again it was based off decisions what culture they wanted to add in there. It makes no different from here. Pretty sure you wont see a mosque anytime soon here all comes down the devs decision to even add one.
